Fairground Frights Review ()

INTRODUCTION

The ultimate scare experience returns to the East Coast with Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach presents Fairground Frights! Roaming scares, dancing scares, ride scares, and maze terrors await at this yearly event. Fairground Frights runs for six nights during October as a separate event, featuring five distinct Halloween attractions. We know the atmosphere is top-notch, as the event won our award for Best Atmosphere in 2024! This year sees all five attractions return, including the two scare mazes: South Beach Institute and Inhumane. You’ll also find the ride overlays: Not So Fun Factory (taking over the fun house) and the Ghost Train (with live actors), along with Snails & Scary Tails returning. The event runs from Saturday, October 25th, through to Friday, October 31st, between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Located in Great Yarmouth (East of England), the Pleasure Beach provides a number of additional thrills and fun rides alongside the Halloween lineup. Prices start from £26.50.

THE OVERALL EVENT…

WOO – Value for money | WOO – Roaming Characters | BOO – Entertainment

Having visited Fairground Frights year after year, it’s great to see they’ve created an event they are confident with and that guests consistently enjoy. While the lineup is a repeat this year—a rare occurrence in recent seasons—the established formula clearly works.

They invited Club Tropico back with a new grave stage in a slightly new location, which we loved once again. They provide a fantastic atmosphere, and the music was the best it’s ever been.

The roaming characters are a true staple and, this year, they caused scares and chaos throughout the entire park. Before we even reached our first ride, the zombie bride had interacted with us and joined us for a ride on the Snails, complete with witty comments! The freedom and diverse range of the cast—from a camp prisoner to spooky rats—make them truly stand out.

We typically find the entertainment outside the rides and mazes a little limited, making it the weakest feature. However, they have upgraded it this year, which is noted and appreciated, with random dance shows breaking out with the roaming team, though this seemed to lack structure outside the DJ sets.

The value for money at Fairground Frights is incredible. You’ll struggle to find much that matches getting an amusement park and additional frights unlimited for three and a half hours for around £26. While the event can be busy, queues move quickly, and there is so much to keep you occupied throughout the night.

Overall, Fairground Frights has delivered another fantastic Halloween season. They masterfully provided atmosphere, scares, rides, and perfectly captured the true meaning of a Halloween event: having fun with your group.

We loved the music, the short queues, and the reasonable prices. The event is clearly getting bigger and better each season, and we sincerely hope to see more new elements introduced for 2026.

We highly recommend you visit! Tickets can be purchased directly via the Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach website.

A huge thank you to the team for inviting us down to experience the event and giving us complimentary entry in return for our content, review, and ratings.
