How to get to the park & Costs

Getting to Grona Lund is super easy, with multiple different routes available. You can travel by car, tram, train, ferry and even bus as just some of the options. All options are pretty affordable and it really depends where you are travelling from and to. We were staying in Stockholm, so we managed to get a tram line which was 5 minutes from our hotel to the entrance of Grona Lund on the way there. We managed to buy tickets using the app, but you could buy them on board if you were stuck. On the way back, we took the ferry. You can buy tickets for this outside the ferry using the machines, which again is super easy. Getting the ferry is one route we highly recommend, as you get to see Grona Lund from the water, which is magical at day and even more magical at night, with the bright lights and seeing all the rides going. 

The ticket cost for Grona Lund can be a little difficult to understand. Ultimately, you can buy a ticket just to enter the park and enjoy the atmosphere, for guests between 9-64 this is chargeable at 100sek, about £7.50. However, this does not include rides. If you want rides, you can buy tokens to just do certain rides or you can buy a wristband to ride as much as you like, similar to funfairs. A wristband in 2023 cost £310sek on average, about £24.  There is offers, discounts and special tourist passes available, which we recommend you research prior to your visit. 

The Rollercoasters

Grona Lund is home to 8 rollercoasters at the park, all different and providing a mixture of intense thrills through to family fun. Starting off with INSANE, this is an intense ride guaranteed to flip you round time & time again across its mesmerizing track. Created by Intamin and opening back in 2009, this ride is for true thrill seekers. 

Moving on, we have Nyckelpigan, a coaster more aimed for the younger audience, with a long train with some dips and turns along the way. Vilda Musen is the Gerstlauer wild mouse coaster, perfect for the family audience as you pick up some decent speed and turns. Kvasten is a suspended coaster and is very similar to Paulton Park’s Flight of the Pterosaur coaster. Keeping with the small coasters, you also have Tuff-Tuff Tåget, a kiddie train coaster which is also the smallest coaster they have at Grona Lund. 

Two main coasters were closed during our visit and these were Twister, a wooden ride which provides plenty of thrills. This is temporary closed and we are hopeful to see this ride open in 2024 again. The other coaster closed was Jetline, a coaster which goes through the heart of the park and is a huge family favourite. 

The rest of Grona Lund

Grona Lund has numerous fantastic attractions to enjoy. Naming just a few, you have the classic fun house, with tilting rooms and a fun mat slide to end. You also have Ikaros, one of the many drop towers they have at the park but this one tilts and drops you as you face the ground. Pop Expressen is one of our personal favourites, each ride has a different song to the last and it is your classic breakdance spinner which runs for a perfect amount of time before you get sick of spinning. 

The rides do continue with such different themes, such as The Tunnel of Love, which is a small gentle boat ride that is perfect for couples. A complete opposite to this is the House of Nightmares, an upcharge haunted house you can scream around. It is certainly haunted in there and has some really cool unique sections in it for a theme park year round haunt. 

As much as we did not know the artist, our visit was on a concert day and a popular Swedish singer was playing in one of the smaller stages. Whilst we didn’t know the music, it was great to listen to and we stuck around for a few songs whilst a lot of the locals partied away from start to finish.
