Junglemanji Can You Escape

Are you ready to step into a new era of escape rooms with ‘Can You Escape?’ Malta. A team with over 9 years of history in creating & crafting highly themed environments with challenging & fun puzzles to create an authentic atmosphere which builds pressure minute by minute. With 3 experiences on offer at present, we take our first look at one of Malta’s best escape rooms.

Co founders Riccardo & Jeanice, they look after the brand new venue that opened in October 2024. They moved from a location that they have been home to for over 8 years. With a new venue, allowed for the opportunity of a new era of escape rooms, with plenty of experience behind them. The new venue is found in a quiet part of Malta, in the Ta’ Qali area. With Malta not being a huge island, you can easily get a taxi to this location. We got dropped off nearby and took a stroll through the park before we walked the final 10 minutes by foot.

The new Can You Escape? venue offers 3 escape rooms which you can choose from. It seems Forbidden Castle has come across from the old location, whilst Mayan Temple & Junglemanji are brand new. All 3 rooms have a distinct theme and give of a adventure based, exploration style aura. The venue is open 6 days a week, with them being closed only on Thursdays. They have won numerous awards such as top 100 escape rooms in the world! The rooms can be played in groups between 2-8 players (Mayan Temple is 7 players maximum), with prices varying from 35 euros down to 20 euros per person.

Our experience began checking in at the entrance with a warm welcome. We scanned a QR code, read the T&C’s, chose a team name and had the opportunity to go to the toilet and store everything away. Whilst no footage could be taken inside the room itself, we will provide some of our highlights in the next section of our experience in the Junglemanji room!

“Are you ready to be swallowed into a thrilling, high-stakes jungle adventure? In JUNGLEMANJI, you’re not just solving puzzles—you’re on a rescue mission. Jacob has been trapped inside a mysterious video game, embodied in the avatar of Cedric Ironheart and lost deep in a treacherous jungle where insidious mysteries lurk around every corner. Your team has 60 minutes to enter the game, navigate its wild and unpredictable terrain, and find the clues that will lead you to his location. But beware: the clock is ticking, and if you fail to free him and escape in time, you’ll be trapped in the game forever. Test your wits, teamwork, and bravery as you race against time to survive the jungle and beat the game. Do you have what it takes to make it out alive, or will the jungle claim you too? Adventure awaits—step into the game if you dare!”

As we stepped into our mission, we were unsure on what to expect from Can You Escape?, with 9 years worth of experience and some very adventurous themes, it was going to be interesting. Shocked from the start, we were immediately climbing and wowed with some of the incredible use of space. The theme of the room had a clear jungle and adventure theme which oozed throughout, with many grand moments which you don’t get to see too often in the escape room world. All the set pieces, walls, flooring, puzzles and props were high quality, with nothing looking out of place or being broken. With it following the obvious Jumanji theme, it still stood out with enough differences to be unique in the story. You never lost focus of the task in hand, with this being being embedded in the storyline and each task getting you closer to escaping the game. Mixed with the theming, it created a perfect backstory, transporting you from playing the game in an ordinary room before stepping out into a full blown jungle terrain.

The puzzles were rated 5/5 in difficulty. We were warned the room would be pretty active and that for small group sizes, the room would be a challenge. They run a 3-clue policy, which you cannot ask for, they will let you know at the critical times to make sure you don’t fall too far behind. With many different areas and sets of puzzles to complete, we found ourselves working against the clock to solve puzzle after puzzle. Whilst the game started linear, it does open up to allow for some exploration and options as the game develops. As for us as a team of 2, it did require us to work as a team every step of the way. Whilst at the start of the escape room, not everything made sense, it does all come together and make sense when you complete the puzzle, which is nice to see. There is definitely some harder style puzzles in here, which with bigger team sizes can take a few players away for a period of time. This is nice to have the challenge, but they also had plenty of smaller puzzles which were fun and gave you that sense of achievement and progression.

We both had different highlights of this room, with Dean saying “I absolutely loved the multiple levels (quite literally), it felt like a real live action video game with so many fun and interactive puzzles. Whilst Austyn said, “It’s great to see Can You Escape use all of their experience to create one of the most immersive, fun yet challenging escape games we’ve played in a very long time!”

We managed to just escape in time and complete our rescue mission with just under 2 minutes spare. Which was very fortunate as we had a whole section to complete with less than 5 minutes to go and travel high and low across the room. We highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for a room that has a challenging nature but also keeps you active.

A huge thank you to our host Riccardo for inviting us to play and work with them during our time in Malta. They have created what could be one of our favourite rooms of all time. They did allow us to play for free in return for our content & promotion however, all opinions follow our visit and factual information or personal opinions.
