INTRODUCTION
Brace yourself for the return of Fear Island! Fantasy Island gets scary when October comes, transforming into Fear Island with the new tagline: The Infernal Rising.
Big changes are in place for 2025, with Fear Island featuring a more centralized zone for all the scares, where you will find entertainment and all the mazes. They have a brand new maze called Snap, and returning attractions include The Ravenous, 9 Circles, and Psycho Mansion.
They have plenty of other entertainment on offer, including a family-friendly pirate show, the mountain projection show, and the brand-new Dr. Grimm’s Side Show of Fear.
Fear Island is located in the North East of the UK near Skegness. The event runs on selected dates: October 18th-19th, 22nd-26th, and October 29th-November 2nd.
The mazes open from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily, except on the 25th, when they open from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a free firework display!
Prices range depending on whether you want access to the other rides and attractions. A Scream Pass—which grants five entries to the four mazes—is £25, while a pass including all the rides is £42.

As we got an exclusive preview into Fear Island, we attended a VIP night before the event started. Here we got to check out everything new, starting with the new name, The Infernal Rising, which truly signifies a new era for the team. This year, Fear Island has its own dedicated zone instead of being spread out across the whole park, housing all the mazes and most of the entertainment.
The area had lots of fantastic roaming characters who interacted with us throughout the night. From the drunk pirate to the crazy witch, each brought a spooky but also very comical take to the atmosphere. They really bring this area to life and offer free entertainment for those not partaking in the mazes. One of our favourite moments was stopping by the multiple photo opportunities, with one of the team joining in and pretending to ride the rollercoaster—very funny with her over-the-top enthusiasm!
Unfortunately, we rated the operations as the weakest feature of Fear Island. This is due to the small groups going through, with one group having to fully exit a maze before the next group can enter. With some mazes taking five to ten minutes to complete, queues can easily gather. Given how popular this event is becoming, we think they may need to change this approach.
The value for money, however, is outstanding here. It costs just £25 to get five tokens to do any of the four scare mazes, effectively making it £5 per person, per maze. On top of that, the dedicated cast inside focuses solely on your group, giving it a personalized, highly interactive touch that you’ll struggle to find at this price point elsewhere in the UK.

Overall, Fear Island: The Infernal Rising is well worth visiting this Halloween. From the new Fear Island zone, through to the free entertainment and shows in the area and also in The Pyramid. We did also visit to see the mountain projection show and they also have a child-friendly pirate show on here. Snap is a fantastic addition to their lineup and for its first year, wowed us whilst leaving us scared. They have plenty of freaky treats and also a bar in the area on top of plenty of photo opportunities which you should check out in your visit. We love how with this expansion, it will only grow to be bigger and better in future years to come.
A huge thank you to the Fantasy Island team for inviting us to the VIP preview night. This did allow us to get filming permission (where you normally are not able to) on top of getting to be the first to go through the mazes on the night. It’s always appreciated, and the team’s passion has really been shown this year.
