cetautomatix – New for 2025

Cetautomatix is the latest coaster to arrive at Parc Astérix, and its quirky design and build fit perfectly with the brand. Built in the central Gaul zone, this new attraction is a custom Gerstlauer spinning coaster. It is Europe’s first family spinning coaster that utilizes friction-propelled boost segments, allowing it to vary your speed throughout the course. The coaster trains really stand out because, compared to traditional outward-facing seats, these face inwards. While this family coaster doesn’t have any inversions, it provides plenty of twists, turns, and fun; it only reaches a top speed of around 28mph, but it delivers such an entertaining experience as you go around. Like all spinning coasters, the spin is completely unpredictable, meaning no two rides are the same, we had some laps that went crazy and others that were a bit more tame!

This was the main addition to the 2025 season, having opened in August, and during our visit, it was highly popular with families. If you are visiting solo or don’t mind splitting up, you can find a single rider queue which, even on a busy day like ours, was moving very quickly. Filotomatix (Fast Track) can be bought for this just like most of the major attractions, and it features a highly themed queueline experience to keep you entertained as you wait to board, with the initial start of the ride taking place indoors.

Parc Astérix was always going to be busy during our bank holiday weekend visit, especially with the scorching heat that took over during our day. Because of that, all of the major rides and water attractions gained large queues, but this was expected and allowed us to make great use of the park’s fast track option, Filotomatix. This system offers both single-use options and packages, allowing you to decide which one is best for your visit to get everything done. We opted for the package that gives you a single fast track entry on each major attraction, which was more than enough to keep us moving and give us plenty of breaks for drinks out of the sun. We also made sure to strategically break up the water attractions, meaning we were kept cool during the peak of the day without having to wait in the baking hot lines.

Our highlights of the day have to be Toutatis, which is always a standout ride and easily one of the best in Europe. With its extreme triple launch and floaty airtime across the rest of the layout, we made sure to get plenty of laps in (helped massively by a completely empty single rider lane!). OzIris was fantastic as always, making for an incredible sunset ride towards the end of our day when the main queue had finally quietened down. We also thoroughly enjoyed our ride on La Revanche des Pirates, the retheme of Le Grand Splatch that debuted back in 2024. The upgraded effects got us beautifully soaked during the hot weather and kept us highly entertained, a massive improvement compared to our last visit where it felt like most of the effects weren’t working.
