INTRODUCTION
Halloween-Fest is back at The Hellfire Caves! Found in West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, the caves are eerie enough all year round, so it is no surprise they go all out at this time of year. Running from 18th October to 1st November 2026, the historic tunnels are decorated spookily, with something for everyone, from family-friendly fun in the day to a much darker experience after dark.
For the family, there is general admission to the decorated caves, £9.50 for adults and £8 for children and concessions, plus Spooky Walks on 24th and 28th to 31st October at 4pm, and pumpkin picking nearby at the Walled Garden, making it easy to turn your visit into a full autumn day out.
But the real highlight, and the one for the thrill seekers, is the Haunted Hellfire Club Fright Nights. This is the 16+ only experience, and it is not for the faint-hearted. Excavated in 1748 by Sir Francis Dashwood, the caves are the genuine haunt of the notorious Hellfire Club, a quarter-mile of tunnels carved beneath West Wycombe Hill, and this Halloween, you walk straight into it. Live actors bring the caves’ darkest characters back: Suki, the Ghost Bride; Paul Whitehead, the tormented former Steward hunting for his stolen heart; and the Hellfire Club itself, risen for one night only. And at the very bottom, you face something far older and darker than the club itself.
Fright Nights run on 24th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st October 2026, with gates opening at 6pm and last entry at 8:45pm, 9:45pm on Halloween itself. Tickets are from £20 per person.

About our experience…
WOO – Concept | WOO – Theming | BOO – Audio
The Haunted Hellfire Club is the main attraction for the 16+ event here at The Hellfire Caves this Halloween. With it taking you into centuries-old caves with a real story with a quarter-mile descent into genuine history and haunting inhabitants. Our journey started with heading from the car park and taking a short 5 minute walk up to the cave entrance. Here, your tickets are checked and you go immediately into the cave. You do get a short introduction with a detailed story of what is about to happen and the story on the Hellfire Club itself. Before long, you are left to your own devices to head into the darkness and explore.
The concept of this is genuinely insane. They have a naturally haunting setting with them having the caves and with a bit of lighting, they are the perfect backdrop. On top of that, having a genuine story relating to the history, it creates something so unique and different that other events are unable to do.
What the event and caves do lack is audio. We can see it may be a little difficult to do this due to their setting however, it was definitely noticed and would have turned the fear level up naturally when walking around with some tension building audio. We hope the event can creatively work on this element in the future.
The theming is again just naturally great. They haven’t had to fake or build anything and that’s great. Having the natural setting works and all of it creates that horrifying, spooky setting that we loved.
Overall, the attraction was really creepy and has a brilliant concept that follows all the way through. It was a little short-lived, with us being in and out in a short amount of time however, we can see you can remain and walk for as long as you like until you’re happy to escape. Equally, it is like a mini maze down there, so you can get lost and accidentally spend a long time down there as there is no set route.
We had so much fun checking out this event and a huge thank you to the team for inviting us last minute. They did provide us complimentary entry in return for our honest feedback and content.
They are running up until Halloween night itself and if you’re looking for a spooky, indoor event with some real history, then this is your event!
