The Hertfordshire Witch is an attraction based on a real, historical local story. Taking you back to 1712 and the witch trials, you truly step back in time as you enter the attraction. They have built a living, breathing town which you wander through and interact with the characters.

The theming is very good inside, as you go through a main street in the middle, with different buildings lining each side. Scenes like the Church and the Hanging stood out among the rest. This attraction did feel limited on the special effects it used, and it would be great to see more added—especially with a witch theme—but hopefully this will be addressed in the following year. The actor performance in this maze also stood out as one of the strongest of the night; the team did really well to create an eerie atmosphere, and it felt like there were so many of them active throughout the town.

E.D.E.N is the futuristic maze that takes you on board a spaceship where things don’t exactly go according to plan. You were meant to be taking a journey to a better world, but you’ve instead found yourself walking around an infested spaceship. The concept of this maze is very cool, and the monsters they had on board were some of the freakiest we’ve seen this Halloween. The scares, however, felt very distant and minimal, but we hope this will change in upcoming days once the team knows their space a little better. The theming inside is very noticeable for a spaceship, with the large control board and the effective introduction scene. You are taken through many scenes you would probably expect to see on a spaceship, which helps with the immersion. The story does need explaining a little more at the start and throughout; however, this also got better on our second run-through.
