Rollercoasters

Plopsaland De Panne is home to many thrilling rides and attractions, with there being 7 coasters for a range of audiences. Starting with the newest and most popular since its opening is The Ride to Happiness. This coaster packs a punch as it launches, spins and inverts you across its unique theme linked to Tomorrowland. With its own area and shop, the ride is one of the best in Europe and is not to be missed during your visit. 

The next family rides would be Heidi The Ride, based on the character of a popular belgium show, the wooden coaster offers plenty of thrills for the whole family. You also have Anubis, which is another coaster that has a powerful launch reaching speeds of 90km/h as you flip, twist and bend across its layout. 

You also have the K3 Roller Skater coaster, which is based on the belgium pop based K3. SuperSplash makes waves as you are taken in a unique lift hill up in the sky before splashing back down. De Draak is a kid friendly ride as this powered coaster goes around the area and lets you get a birds eye view. Finally you have the #LikeMe coaster, which has recently been rebranded to this name as the ride originally opened back in 1976.

You can note with a range of coasters alone, that Plopsaland De Panne will have something you will all like. 

Other Thrilling Rides

Outside the thrills of the coasters, you have plenty of other rides to keep you and your group busy during your visit. Whilst not open during our visit, the park has plenty of water rides such as Wickie The Battle, a splash battle ride in the viking area which provides a perfect soaking. You also have Dino Splash which was open despite the cold weather, as you journey through the volcano with multiple dips and drops along your way. 

Looking at more dry rides then you have Plop’s woods which is a slow indoor boat ride which has magical creatures inside to spot and get lost in. You can also take a ride on the Tractors, as the have live farm animals inside which you can get very close to along your route. 

The park has plenty of smaller rides for the younger audience, from playgrounds, a driving school and other quirky attractions. It is always worth taking a look round your route as sometimes without a map you will spot rides you didn’t know that were there. 

Whilst we find many of the attractions outside the main coasters for the younger audience, it certainly has plenty of great water rides and enough to keep you busy on a normal day. 

WINTER MAGIC & NIGHT

As we visited during the winter season, they do have some additional entertainment for this time of year. With the park open between 10am through to 7pm, it allows for some night time surprises. The main addition for winter is Luminaria, a winter light projection show over in the main plaza on the Maya building. This takes a magical story across the different zones and areas of Plopsa, with snow and music to accompany the projections. They also had a small parade on in the Maya area, with a few Christmas characters roaming around, which was different from the main parade which we have seen in previous years outside. In our opinion, it wasn’t worth seeing but we are unsure if they have difficulties on the day due to the wet weather and it being pretty quiet. 

It was worthwhile seeing the park at night as you can see all of the areas with fairytale lighting all around. The Anubis ride building had lots of lights on with a mini show as such, then throughout the park you can find lights scattered about which was lovely to see.
