Theme park Toverland welcomed 1,137,000 visitors last year, making 2025 the fourth consecutive year in which more than 1 million guests visited the park. This reflects the park’s consistent quality, high levels of guest satisfaction and continued investment in seasonal events. Toverland has a packed programme of events planned for 2026 as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. The park will present a spectacular show by world-renowned illusionist Hans Klok, alongside a large-scale ToverFestival, during which it will remain open continuously for 25 hours.
“On the back of these strong visitor numbers, we have firmly established ourselves among the leading day attractions,” says Bart Jaspers, Senior Manager Marketing & Communications. “We look back with pride on a varied year in which we once again stood out with our special events.” The park refreshed its summer event Summer Feelings, while Halloween Nights introduced a new scare zone and a new Haunted Experience. The park also hosted a 24-hour roller coaster marathon, which raised €72,000 for charity: Stichting Jade.
High level of guest satisfaction
“At Toverland, creating magical experiences for our guests is always our top priority,” Bart explains. “Receiving an award last year at the Klantvriendelijkste Bedrijf van Nederland ceremony was a major recognition for the entire team.” Toverland was named sector winner in the Leisure category and finished second overall among all Dutch companies. Research agency MarketResponse organises the awards, which are entirely based on consumer feedback.
Toverland will soon say goodbye to the popular bobsleigh ride Maximus’ Blitz Bahn. It will be replaced by a completely new attraction: a swinging bobsled. The new ride retains the key features of Maximus’ Blitz Bahn, including allowing riders to control their own speed. The current ride will close on Sunday 17 May 2026 to make way for its successor, due to open in the upcoming winter season. The swinging bobsled has been developed in partnership with ETF Ride Systems, based in Nederweert, Limburg.
“After 12 years of intensive use, the time has come to replace Maximus’ Blitz Bahn,” says Roy Janssen, Senior Manager of Engineering and Projects. “Rodeling has always been an important part of Toverland, so we set out to find a replacement that would preserve the ride’s most popular elements. That led to the new ‘swinging bobsled’ concept, which we developed together with ETF Ride Systems.”
Swinging bobsled
Where the vehicles of Maximus’ Blitz Bahn race along curved bobsleigh chutes, the swinging bobsled runs on a conventional roller coaster track. The existing layout, including the canopy, will remain unchanged, so the ride can operate in all weather. “The ride will feel different, with banked corners,” Janssen explains. “This means the track tilts inward on bends, making the ride both smoother and more intense.”
New vehicles
The attraction will also feature newly designed vehicles, with riders seated one behind the other in a larger two-person bobsled. At various points along the track, the cars will swing outward depending on their speed, giving the ride a more dynamic feel. Riders can control their speed using levers. “Increasing capacity was a key priority, so more guests can enjoy it. For that reason, the vehicles will always maintain a minimum speed.”
The swinging bobsled will become part of the themed area Wunderwald, where visitors can try out the inventions of the eccentric Maximus Müller. The vehicles will be finished in a steampunk style. Further details on the storyline and the ride’s name will be announced in due course.
Farewell event
Maximus’ Blitz Bahn will run its final rides on Sunday 17 May 2026. To mark the occasion, Toverland will host a farewell celebration full of ‘Stimmung und Spaß’. Maximus Müller himself will be there. The new swinging bobsled will open during Toverland’s upcoming winter season.
Theme park Toverland will celebrate its 25th anniversary in style. From the 18th of April, visitors will be able to enjoy Magic Memories, a show created especially for Toverland by world-famous illusionist Hans Klok. Also on the program is the ToverFestival: 25 Hours of Magic. This unique event lasts a whopping 25 hours and takes place from 9:00 AM on Saturday 27 June until 10:00 AM on Sunday 28 June. Visitors will be treated to a wide range of festive activities, including an XXL parade and a spectacular fireworks display.
Hans Klok: Magic Memories
In 2026, Toverland will celebrate its 25th anniversary. 25 years ago, Hans Klok officially opened Toverland. That is why he is now returning with his sensational illusion show Hans Klok: Magic Memories. Visitors can look forward to a memorable journey through time, full of tricks, illusions and surprises. The show will run at weekends from Saturday 18 April to Sunday 28 June and during Ascension Day and Whitsunday. The Magic Memories show lasts approximately thirty minutes and is performed multiple times a day. The show is included in the price of a Toverland ticket. ToverFestival: 25 Hours of Magic
On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, Toverland’s 25th anniversary will be celebrated in style. The theme park will be open for 25 hours, and every five hours visitors will be treated to unique and creative activities from both the past and the present. Each time slot focuses on a different theme, ranging from Toverland’s history to lively parties and the unexpected surprises of the night. Highlights include an XXL parade which combines the best moments of summer, Halloween and winter at Toverland, playing laser tag among Halloween characters, and a spectacular fireworks display. Visitors who attend all time slots and are present for the full 25 hours will receive a unique pin.
An all-year-round party
Throughout Toverland’s anniversary year, the park will be festively decorated with anniversary decorations. A special anniversary song will be played at various locations throughout the park. ‘Exploria Historia’ will be showcased along one of the park’s walking trails, where museum displays show visitors 25 years of magic. ToverFestival will take place from 9:00 AM on Saturday 27 June until 10:00 AM on Sunday 28 June. On Sunday 28 June, Toverland will be open until 6:00 PM. This means visitors can stay at Toverland for as long as 33 hours. Tickets for ToverFestival are €46.50 and are available via tickets.toverland.com.
