Are you ready to face your fears with Stourbridge Scare Maze? This is a live action horror attraction which is located in Stourbridge High Street. This is a high intensity maze takes you through a range of horrifying environments all hosted in one large building, with 3 floors of fear ready to be unleashed each October to everyone who is brave enough to enter.
This attraction has now been around for several years and they grow each year with minor alterations & adaptations to keep it fresh, current and of course scary. Unlike other Halloween attractions, Stourbridge Scare Maze is one building which only hosts the one long maze, with no food & beverage, shop or hang out space before or after the main attraction. You solely attend for the maze and leave afterwards. You are in a high street of course, so there is plenty of food, drinks and toilets in local businesses around.
Tickets are best purchased online as you will need to select a time slot and date you wish to visit. In 2023, they ran from the 6th October through to the 31st during selected nights. They were open between 5pm – 10:30pm depending on the night so they had plenty of availability. Your ticket grants you one entry to the maze and costs around £18.50 however, if you catch an early bird offer it can be a little bit cheaper.

Our Thoughts from this event…
As we visited for our first time a few years back, we were very excited to go back as it was a good event however, it did just lack in actors and a few batching issues. We were glad to see this was fixed during our visit in 2023 and allowed for us to have a much better time compared to 2021, which was already pretty good. Whilst the maze is the only attraction linked to Stourbridge Scare Maze, everything is all about the maze. We managed to arrive, have our tickets scanned and waited in a short line before entering the maze. The queue was full upon arrival but the maximum wait was within 15-25 minutes.
Before you go in, smaller groups are batched together but we didn’t see any groups bigger than 6 go in, which was great to see. Before you enter in, you are given some safety instructions and story background and then are free to start your journey into hell. The attraction itself lasts around 20-25 minutes and this does depend on how quick you move throughout, but with 3 floors to explore and plenty of scenes, you would have to run to escape in anything less!

Stourbridge Scare Maze scored pretty high on every category which we believe makes a very strong scare attraction. The actors were beyond excellent during our visit, with very strong performances in jump scares, creepy moments and interactions that were just terrifying from start to finish. In the brief moments they stopped being scary, it was only to make us laugh for a second before catching us off guard once more. Equally meaning why our scare score was the highest it could be as we screamed around every corner without fail. One of the most scariest attractions we did, from the clowns who mocked us, to the scarecrow creatures coming out of literally nowhere, each character in the themed environment did superb. The theming was constantly changing after a set number of rooms and we like this, as it is one long scare attraction across 3 floors, we liked how the settings changed to keep it fresh and it didn’t feel like it took away too much from the story they were trying to portray. The story we think is a lot clearer and stronger, with a very detailed description on the website and this brought to life more in person however, we think it may be a little too much for the average customer and was for us too. Ultimately, it was everything you wanted from a scare attraction and it was done to a detailed level.
As you have read, Stourbridge Scare Maze really gave 2023 the ultimate scare experience with their creepy attraction. Whilst we haven’t gone into detail about the story & specific scenes you can see inside, we can assure you that we were so scared. The actors managed to grab us, separate the two of us and create true terrifying moments for the both of us, which was super intense for over 20 minutes. When we managed to escape, we couldn’t even think of driving straight off as we had to catch our breath from what we had just been through.
The team at Stourbridge Scare Maze are extremely passionate and we followed up with them on some pointers in our 2021 review, so we are so glad to see a huge improvements in all fields since our last visit. Something that was good is now excellent, so if you are looking to be terrified and experience a true scare maze then Stourbridge Scare Maze should be on your list to visit.
