Tulley’s Escape Rooms Spellcraft Review

10 March 2024

Spellcraft Title

The newest experience by Tulley’s Escape Room Adventures is Spellcraft, where you enter into a mindboggling world where Evilinda & Spellinda, the Spellcraft twins’ worlds collide. With two shops, two paths, two witches, two journeys and you find yourself in the middle of it all, there is a lot to experience in this new adventure. Who will win the battle, good or evil? Only time which was counting down would tell…

You can find more about the history and the rest of the offerings at Tulley’s Escape Rooms by clicking here!

Our experience was during the summer of 2023 and we took on Spellcraft with our team of 7, as we had never experienced any rooms in this award winning venue & location. We knew the puzzles would be on a large scale, there would be lots to do and timing would be our enemy. With all of us experienced in escape rooms, we had great spirit we would manage to crack the latest creation by the team.

Spellcraft can be played in teams as small as 2 and teams up to 8. Whilst with many other escape rooms we would recommend a smaller group, we would recommend the opposite here and teams of 4-8 are perfect. They have a guide of how difficult it is with how many people are in your team, such as for a team of 2 it is rated 8/10 for difficulty and for our team of 7, it was rated about 5.5/10. Tickets cost depend on how many players, with it being from £72 through to £208, with it following the structure of more people there is, the cheaper it is per person.

With lots of special effects and a very unique start, we were ready to get started into our magical journey of the sweet shop!

Theming & Storyline – 9/10

Let’s start with the storyline of this room and whilst it is quite simple, it has plenty of detail. The story is based on two witches, one good and one evil. Like all twins, they fight and this becomes a key part. They both have their own puzzles and shops and they play a key part from the very start to the last moments in the room. You will actually split at the start to begin your adventure with one of the witches and meet up with the team later on. The starting rooms were very well themed, with Spellinda’s Sweet Shop looking like a magical sweet shop with sweets everywhere. Everything was themed from the floors to the ceiling, we were very immersered. Throughout the other rooms we experienced, we got to see some clever UV effects, special effects and other fantastic props. All of this combined left us spellbinded into our experience & escape. How many rooms you cover across your story and how no room felt cheap or out of place in this magical journey you were a part of.

Puzzles & Flow – 9/10

There were puzzles upon puzzles in this experience and if you weren’t solving one, then we were seconds away from finding the next one to solve. There was always something to be finding and doing in Spellcraft. The rooms were so huge and we had plenty of places to search and there were so many hiding spaces. Whilst some more obvious, you would struggle to find them all. From eating sweets like you would in a sweet shop, to memory puzzles to complicated word puzzles, the room had a great range & depth in the skills required to solve the challenges required to move forward. With a large team, everybody had more than enough to do and have their skills shine.

Uniqueness – 9/10

With so much unique about Spellcraft, it was great to see as it was our first experience at Tulley’s. The start is certainly unique, as you will be split into two different starts, with half the team starting with Evilinda and half with Spellinda. Both rooms have completely different starts and this team sticks with you until the end. At the end, you have a final challenge to complete in your two split teams which changes the ending accordingly. We loved the eating element in the sweet shop to solve one of the puzzles and this is only scratching the service of the unique elements in Spellcraft. To see & experience them all, we can only recommend taking a look yourself, as it does not disappoint!

Spellcraft is one of the most picturesque, immersive & fun rooms we have played in the last year. With it mixing the light & dark theme with such a great blend and using the magical theme but in a different way, we really admire how this experience comes together. They have put a lot of special effects, puzzles and detailed story moments inside to keep you immersed along the way and we did not feel bored, lost or frustrated at any point during our time escaping. It has such a quality build & finish to it and is really does stand out as one of the best escape rooms in the UK right now.

A huge thank you to the team at Tulley’s for working with us during our visit. They provided us with a complimentary experience and allowed us to take some exclusive pictures & video snippets to showcase a little more of what you can experience in Spellcraft. Make sure you look at our TikTok to see a little more of what you can expect.

Tulley’s has so much on offer with many other rooms & experiences in Crawley. So if this magical journey is not your cup of tea, then do not worry, take a look into maybe a horror theme or wild west instead? For tickets and latest information, make sure you check out their website.
