Croatia – New area for 2024

Croatia is the newest European land which has been created at Europa Park. Opening earlier in 2024, the new land brings a brand new headline attraction which is Voltron, amongst other smaller attractions in the area. The area is heavily influenced around Nikola Tesla, scientist and well known inventor. Croatia gives a Mediterranean flair to the park, with a bell tower and two Voltron towers which stand out from a far in the first phase of this new land. 

You can find a snack bar here with Croatian themed food and an ice cream parlour to enjoy on the warmer days. You can enjoy these in the land in a large market plaza, which gives the area a nice spacious feel as well as a realistic. You can also find a 360 experience based on Nikola Tesla’s dream and an animatronic also which tells his story. Linking with the new rollercoaster Voltron, you can find a souvenir shop with Voltron merchandise as well as Croatian inspired gifts. We also did see a few extra food & drink stands with additional seating in the corner which provided many options for food & drink like the rest of the areas in the park.

Overall, this new themed land is well built and does justice to the country. We are sure to see the area expand in future developments with additional attractions in the near future. 

Austria – Updated for 2024

Also new for 2024 is the Austria update, bringing the mountain landscape back to its former glory after a fire back in 2023. The updated area adds new attractions and updates current ones to bring excitement for new and old guests. The Alpine coaster returns with a slightly update layout and is now all outside as it goes across the mountain rockwork that has been created instead of inside in the gem mine. Whilst it feels shorter, the same experience is ultimately there and it was great to see the new views. The log flume also provides new views as you can see more of the mine train rollercoaster than ever before. There is also new water features which may get you wet, depending on the interaction from guests exploring the new walkthrough attraction which is the Yomi Adventure Trail. This was really cool to experience and is something worth doing to see some really unique views of the Austria area. It provides great photos of the alpine coaster and log flume, as well as featuring a few slides and other fun obstacles. 

The magical diamond mine has also been created which takes inspiration of what was already there prior to the fire. This was a great additional to add back in and you can see this at the end of the adventure trail. Overall, the area has had a massive glow up and fits right back in to the rest of the park like nothing has ever happened. The speed this was done in was incredible to see also. 

Rest of the resort

Outside all of the new additions for 2024, Europa Park is still as fabulous as ever. The theme park is always run well with minimal wait times and great availability. We managed to enjoy many rides of our favourites such as SilverStar & Blue Fire, whilst still having plenty of time to stop for a stein or 2. 

It is always recommended to use the virtual line through the Europa Park app. This allows you to queue virtually, for free, on selected rides and attractions until availability permits. We managed to use this on a number of attractions during the first half of our day and keeps you moving from one ride to the next. This allowed us to queue for Voltron whatever the wait time, to then stroll on our next ride thanks to virtual line. 

We visited during the summer season which runs from March till September, which provides opening times of 9am – 6pm as a minimum. Most days are usually extended given how busy the park does get and you can find this out in the afternoon on most of the major rides or through the app.
