Located near Shoreditch High Street station, Humbug is easily accessible by public transport. The secret entrance adds to the excitement, hinting at the magical world that awaits inside.
The show runs from November 14th to December 31st, with two performance times: afternoon and evening. Tickets start at £25 for balcony seating, £35 for general admission, and £57.50 for VIP, which includes a welcome drink, a special meeting with Santa, and prime seating.
Once inside, you’ll be swept away by the festive atmosphere. Join the mission to cheer up Santa, who has lost his holiday spirit, and participate in interactive games, sing-alongs, and live performances. Our First thoughts…
Before attending Humbug, we knew little about what to expect beyond a festive dive bar and a visit from Santa. However, as we stepped through the secret entrance, we were immediately immersed in a world of holiday cheer.
As VIP ticket holders, we were given special tokens and a unique wristband, allowing us to skip the queue and enjoy priority seating. We were then introduced to Daphne, a quirky and charismatic character who set the tone for the evening.
The venue itself was a winter wonderland, adorned with Christmas decorations, neon signs, and plenty of photo opportunities. A separate food court and bar offered refreshments, while a designated smoking area was available for those who needed a break.
The main event kicked off with a lively introduction on stage, signaling the start of the interactive adventure. From there, we were guided through a series of festive games, sing-alongs, and performances. The talented cast of characters brought the holiday spirit to life, creating a truly memorable experience.

Our Experience
Our Humbug experience kicked off with a lively introduction from Rudie the Barkeep, who set the festive tone for the evening. The storyline centered around a disheartened Santa, whose Christmas spirit needed to be restored. Along the way, we encountered quirky characters like Daphne the aspiring singer and the hapless mailman, Howard.
As VIP guests, we had the privilege of a private meeting with a rather grumpy Santa. We shared heartwarming Christmas stories in hopes of rekindling his festive spirit. Despite his initial grumpiness, Santa’s playful and interactive nature made for a hilarious and memorable encounter. We also assisted Howard in his mission to recover Santa’s lost letters, adding another layer of festive fun to the experience.
The immersive nature of Humbug allowed us to explore the venue at our own pace. We could wander around, interact with characters, enjoy live music, and indulge in delicious food and drinks. The festive atmosphere, coupled with the talented cast and crew, created a truly magical experience.
Our visit to Humbug was a truly unforgettable experience. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly our encounter with Santa, who was hilariously grumpy yet endearing. We also had a blast participating in one of the interactive games, even though we didn’t win. The free shot for game participants was a nice touch, adding to the festive fun.
The venue itself was a winter wonderland, filled with festive decorations and quirky photo opportunities. We particularly enjoyed the Mariah Carey shrine and the opportunity to pose in a sleigh. Simple games like bean bag toss and ring toss added to the festive atmosphere and provided a fun way to interact with our group.
As the night progressed, we celebrated Santa’s newfound cheer and enjoyed a few songs prior to it finishing. The talented cast, including Daphne and Howard, delivered hilarious performances and kept the energy high.
