Step into a brand-new immersive light festival with Tulleys Christmas Light Festival for 2024. As they open a winter wonderland filled with enchanting light shows and magical trails, fun for all the family awaits. Live music, mulled wine, and even a Christmas market are ready to provide a festive experience you won’t want to miss.
From the team at Tulleys Farm, they have opened a brand-new experience for 2024 to add to a list of successful events. Known for their escape rooms, Halloween event, and drive-in cinema, Tulleys Christmas Light Festival now joins this impressive lineup. Offering 10 immersive attractions, a 33-meter observation wheel lighting up the night, a Christmas market, live holiday characters, and plenty of food and drink to keep everything festive.
The brand-new experience opened on Thursday, November 21st, and runs on selected dates until December 23rd, 2024. With great availability, they are open between 4 PM and 10 PM on each date with time-slot required tickets. Prices vary with early bird tickets sold out, and now only general price tickets are on sale, ranging from £16 to £26 per adult and £11 to £21 per child. Parking is free, as is admission for children under 2 and carers.
You can find Tulleys Christmas Light Festival in Crawley in the south of the UK. Putting “Tulleys Farm” into a map will get you close to the location, as this event takes place slightly further along and opposite the road to the usual Halloween and escape room location. Signs and the bright lights will guide you to where you need to be!
Our First thoughts…
With little prior knowledge, we were excited to see what Tulleys Farm had created, knowing from past experience that they always deliver. As we pulled into the car park, a sea of bright lights, lasers, and a large Ferris wheel immediately caught our eye. Upon entering the experience, we were given a light map to guide us through the immersive areas. This free-flow format, allowing us to explore at our own pace and revisit sections as desired, was a fantastic touch.
The entrance area housed the Ski Lodge bar, offering festive drinks and live music. Food vendors were also present, serving up giant Yorkshire pudding wraps, chicken, and other festive treats. The prices were in line with what you’d expect at a Christmas event. The live street team, perfect for younger visitors, added to the festive atmosphere. Here, we could ride the Ferris wheel, warm ourselves by a fire pit, or capture a festive photo. This area served as both an introduction and an exit point, making it a great place to relax at the beginning or end of our visit.
Our Experience…
As you venture deeper, you can start exploring the 10 immersive lands they have designed. Split into two categories, you have classic light trails and live shows. Sweet Street, a route filled with candy canes and bright lights, leads you to different zones. The Enchanted Forest is home to fairies, other fantasy creatures, and small houses where Merry Magic swirls to music. Our favorite was Love Lane, with its sky full of lanterns in the trees, reminiscent of a magical scene from Harry Potter. The neon lights and love hearts provided perfect photo opportunities for couples or solo shots.
They also offered six light show experiences. The Spirit of Christmas show featured a small laser and light show over the lake, a spectacular sight. The North Star showcased a large, sparkling star with traditional music. The Lake of Wishes offered a small fountain show with accompanying lights. Luminair was a dazzling laser show set to upbeat music, leaving us in awe. Let’s Dance was a disco zone with disco balls and funky music. Finally, The Fire & Ice Show combined fire and water in a fantastic display with music, filling a large display area.
Throughout the 10 light lands, each zone offered a unique experience. The trails were well-paced, and the shows, which were frequent, provided variety, making it easy to enjoy the event, whether you arrived mid-way through or wanted to wait for the start. Our favorites were Love Lane, for its immersive and magical atmosphere, the Fire & Ice show, for its fiery display, and Let’s Dance, for its funky and different vibe.
We also enjoyed exploring The Alpine Village, a woodland retreat nestled among the immersive lands. This cozy spot offered a smaller bar, seating, pizza, and marshmallow roasting. Roaming characters added to the festive atmosphere. While simple, it provided a convenient alternative to the main hub near the entrance.
For its inaugural year, Tulleys Christmas Light Festival offers a unique and different experience compared to traditional light trails. Though not the largest, we can see its potential for growth and improvement in future years. The price is great value, and you can easily spend several hours here with loved ones or family this Christmas.
