Step into the vibrant world of interactive game shows at Challenge Point, Manchester. This unique experience allows you to live out your game show fantasies, competing against other teams in a series of energetic and unpredictable mini-games. Prepare for a gauntlet of trials, ranging from trivia quizzes to physical challenges and even simulated shopping sprees, with seven randomly assigned games hidden behind mysterious doors.
Brought to you by the team behind Breakout Escape Rooms and Virtual Hideout, Challenge Point has been meticulously crafted over several years to ensure maximum enjoyment. Teams of 2-6 players compete independently in each mini-game, with a scoring system designed to equalize the playing field for smaller groups, even within larger sessions.
Located in central Manchester, Challenge Point is easily accessible with clear directions. Open daily, excluding Tuesdays, the attraction offers various time slots, with weekends being particularly popular and often sold out. Ticket prices range from £20 to £32 per person, depending on team size and session timing.
Our First thoughts…
Returning to Challenge Point after its initial launch, we were immediately impressed by the updates. A dedicated, game-show-themed waiting area provided a comfortable space before our games master introduced the experience, complete with an engaging backstory.
The studio itself featured significant improvements. Lanyards with key cards streamlined game initiation, and the number of mini-games increased from five to seven, offering a wider variety of challenges. Most of the games had been revamped or replaced, showcasing substantial development since our last visit. With more doors than games, replayability is high.
This visit also benefited from a lively atmosphere. Playing alongside multiple teams, rather than just our team of two, added a thrilling competitive edge.

Our Experience
Our return to Challenge Point included a delightful mix of mini-games, starting with the return of their signature mini-golf challenge. This wasn’t your average course; 18 holes were riddled with ramps, twists, and turns, demanding strategic shots and a bit of luck.
The supermarket challenge proved surprisingly intense. We had to swiftly identify and scan items displayed on a screen, with the clock ticking down. As a team of two, we found ourselves dashing around, adding an extra layer of excitement.
The laser maze tested our teamwork and agility, requiring us to deactivate lasers in a specific order. And the trivia room added a unique twist to quiz games, combining mental agility with physical precision. Shooting the correct answer was crucial, but so was hitting the target.
The mini-games were seamlessly integrated, with automated systems and clear video instructions. The constant monitoring from the control room provided peace of mind, knowing assistance was readily available.
Midway through the experience, we faced a pivotal decision: spin the wheel for a chance at bonus points (and the risk of losing some) or play safe and just watch. Fortunately, we spun and gained crucial points, a rare win in our session!
After completing the seven mini-games, the final scores were tallied, and to our surprise, we emerged victorious in a close competition. As the winning team, we earned a bonus round: a ball-throwing challenge with varying difficulty levels, aimed at securing a spot on the leaderboard. Though tiring after the previous games, it was a fun finale. Sadly, we fell short of the top five.
Challenge Point has significantly refined its mini-games since our last visit. While some rooms shared similarities, the overall variety of physical and mental challenges provided an engaging experience for everyone.
We extend a sincere thank you to the Challenge Point team for hosting us. They provided two complimentary tickets for review purposes, allowing us to capture images and offer a sneak peek. We highly recommend this interactive and physically stimulating experience.
