NEW FOR 2025 – Mundo AMAZONIA 

New for 2025 is Mundo Amazonia, Bellewaerde’s 7th adventure zone. This rainforest-themed area introduces four attractions, with the headline being ‘Amazonia.’ This state-of-the-art rapids ride boasts several unique, one-of-a-kind features. The most striking is the half-pipe drop towards the end, where riders plunge steeply before sliding up and down – a feature common in water park slides but unprecedented on a theme park rapids ride. It’s a thrilling element guaranteed to leave someone soaked! Beyond this, the ride includes other impressive effects such as a drop track section, a speedy and lengthy rapids course, and a vertical lift hill. ‘Amazonia’ certainly stands out in the new zone and was very exciting to experience. While the ride and area technically opened in 2024, this unique attraction faced its fair share of initial challenges, leading to significant downtime. However, it’s evident that considerable effort has been made to resolve these issues, paving the way for a much more successful 2025 season.

The Mundo Amazonia zone also features ‘Brazilian Buggies,’ a brand-new children’s rollercoaster for the park. Additionally, two existing attractions, the log flumes ‘Rio Do Cafe’ and ‘Rio Do Cacao,’ have been integrated into this new themed area.

Bellewaerde Aquapark

The Aquapark has been a popular feature at Bellewaerde since it opened to the public in summer 2019. It houses six official slides – two of which are large-scale and require rings, while the other four are more child-friendly – alongside a lazy river, a unique rock-climbing wall, and various other attractions. While perhaps not the largest waterpark in Europe, Bellewaerde’s Aquapark offers plenty of fun and some distinctive features, like the aforementioned rock-climbing wall.

The two major slides, Aquaventure and Splash Clash, are particularly noteworthy additions. Splash Clash is a duelling raft ride accommodating single or duo riders, allowing you to race another pair to the bottom. With its high speeds and numerous twists and turns, it certainly provided us with plenty of thrills. The other main slide, Aquaventure, is a large ring ride. This attraction takes riders through several large tube sections before a sudden plunge into a small, leaf-shaped outdoor section, swinging you around before bringing you back inside to finish. Though simple in concept, the outdoor element is exceptionally cool and had us screaming with delight.

While much of the Aquapark caters to a younger audience, there’s still enough to keep adults entertained for a few hours, especially after the main theme park closes. It’s a worthwhile add-on if you’re looking to cool down after a day enjoying the theme park’s thrills.
