Get ready to take on an enchanting adventure at Enigma Quest Holborn, as they launch three brand-new escape rooms for the summer of 2025. Following the successful launch of Enigma Arcade—a unique form of entertainment inspired by the escape room style—they have now introduced traditional escape rooms to the venue. Whether you’re looking for a mission with fantasy, high-stakes crime, or thrilling adventure, your next escape mission is ready and waiting for you in the capital.
Located in central London, Enigma Quest Holborn is easily accessible by various public transport options, including the Tube and buses. The venue is open seven days a week, giving you plenty of opportunities to experience any of their offerings. This new expansion adds to the existing Enigma Arcade, a 30-room interactive experience with a unique challenge hidden behind each door. We even named Enigma Arcade the Best Entertainment Experience in the UK at our Thrill Awards 2025, so it’s definitely worth checking out!

The three rooms that opened this summer are Inventor’s Odyssey Through Time, a time-traveling journey through the last 100 years; The Billion Pound Heist, which immerses you in a high-stakes art heist; and finally, The World of Witchcraft & Wizardry, a magical adventure that requires a novice spellcaster to use their spells to succeed.
Prices start from £70, and each room can accommodate between two to five players. Each of the escape rooms is distinct from the others, featuring multiple interconnected rooms and requiring the full team to work together to complete the tasks.
Our personal mission was to take on The World of Witchcraft & Wizardry. We started in a study, where, with little to guide us, we had to use our wits to figure out how to move forward. The backstory was that we were trainee wizards, and this was our final interview. The first room proved to be quite challenging; however, once we successfully solved the first puzzle, our team quickly found our rhythm and began to progress.
From there, we advanced into a magical craft room that required us to mix ingredients and solve a variety of complex puzzles. This section was designed to allow our team to split up and conquer all the tasks. Finally, we were taken into a dark wood where ominous, cloaked figures loomed over us. Using our magic and wits, we managed to solve the last of the puzzles and escaped with plenty of time to spare!
What we loved most about our escape game was how different it felt from others in London. While there are a great number of escape rooms in the UK, many with a wizard theme, Enigma Quest has managed to find a truly interactive way to solve puzzles that requires a full team effort. The game had elements that genuinely surprised us, providing a level of interactivity that is rare to see nowadays. The puzzle-solving methods were a welcome departure from the traditional lock-and-key format, which was a refreshing challenge for us from the start. We won’t say too much more to avoid spoilers and to assist you in your own attempt to escape! The theming was solid, and we appreciated the journey through multiple, good-sized rooms and the satisfying amount of puzzles we solved. The difficulty felt about right for a medium-level room; while challenging at points, we managed to solve everything in good time without getting too stressed or needing much help.
Ultimately, we loved the launch of this room at Enigma Quest Holborn, and it partners perfectly with their Enigma Arcade experience. Putting both on your calendar will make for a fantastic day out in London. If you need a breather before or after your mission, you can relax in their bar, which offers a selection of unique cocktails alongside a typical fully stocked bar. They even have board games scattered about to keep you occupied while you have a drink.
A huge thank you to the team at Enigma Quest for inviting us to a press preview, which gave us a complimentary experience in both The World of Witchcraft & Wizardry and another look around the Arcade. We are huge fans of the venue and look forward to trying out the other two games in the near future.
