INTRODUCTION
Prepare for a night to remember as Walsall Scare Maze returns for another haunted Halloween season. Celebrating nine years of fear with a brand new theme and story, they are ready for another award-winning year.
The main attraction is the debut maze, The Cage, featuring a completely new layout and huge decorative changes. For those wanting something more extreme, the infamous ENOLA also returns.
The event can be found in Walsall, close to Birmingham, and runs on selected nights from October 10th through to November 1st.
The main maze attraction, The Cage, is a non-extreme experience with tickets starting from £16.00. For those seeking a more intense fright, the extreme maze ENOLA returns, with tickets starting from £17.50. Please note that ENOLA is an extreme experience and is not for everyone.
With a fully licensed bar, hot and cold food, entertainment, and merchandise, they have plenty to keep you around for a full night of Halloween fun.

THE OVERALL EVENT…
WOO – Operations | WOO – F&B & merch | BOO – Side Shows
Walsall Scare Maze has grown massively over the years but has consistently been a high-quality attraction. The event is hosted outside of a club bar and offers extra entertainment throughout the Halloween run.
This year, during busy operational dates, they feature a stage show with a live performer doing a pain-related act, which was very freaky. We were even asked to go on stage and stand on her as she laid on a bed of nails—very extreme indeed! They also have a separate bar this year serving special cocktails that looked fantastic and used dry ice to give that extra “wow” factor.
The operations of Walsall Scare Maze are always fantastic. This year, you book an entry time and are placed in either Group A or B, with TV screens letting you know when to join the queue. The organization is always excellent, and other events should take note.
The side shows were our weakest feature, as they are limited to a singular shock chair for guests to buy, in addition to ENOLA being a side attraction. Both are quite extreme for us, though they seemed very popular on the night of our visit.
The event does very well on the food offering, with the hot food shack offering reasonably priced items from burgers, hot dogs, pizza fries, and tater tots as just a snippet. The drink offering is also upgraded with the main club bar and the new cocktail bar. Plus, the merchandise shop is always very good, with plenty on offer. They also had a roaming character relating to the main attraction outside with his pet rat, and the receptionist from ENOLA—sat in a skimpy top and dirty underwear/coat—being very helpful (or not) to guests passing by.
The Cage
WOO – Actor Performance | WOO – Theming | BOO – Concept
We really loved The Cage and thought that Walsall Scare Maze brought the intensity and darkness of a Halloween maze this year. They had some great scenes that have been built cleverly and managed to keep the immersion with high quality theming, storytelling, and acting. That’s why we awarded them last year for best theming and storytelling, and we’re glad they still push these core elements once more. The whole event feels like it’s growing, and even with its limited space, they do very well.
A huge thank you to the team who allowed us to visit for free in return for our review and ratings. They did also give us exclusive permission to get the odd photo inside so you can see a little more in our review.
The Cage is highly popular and they are selling out, so make sure you get your tickets directly as soon as possible. Also, if you’re crazy and want something different then definitely book ENOLA!
