INTRODUCTION
Project E20 is here for Halloween 2026! Found at Zip World London, at the ArcelorMittal Orbit in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, it is a brand-new scare-fest with a difference, a scare maze 80 metres above London, with your escape being down the world’s longest tunnel slide.
For years, a secret genetic research programme known as Project E20 operated beneath the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Its purpose was to push the human body beyond its natural limits, but the experiment went too far, and the subject transformed into something no longer human, and whatever it is, it is contagious. Your mission begins at a military checkpoint, where you will receive protective equipment and your briefing before entering the facility. From there, make your way through the darkened facility, navigating twisting pathways while avoiding the monsters and mutated subjects created by the project. Survive the maze and reach the end, where the Helix slide awaits, with every successful descent creating one charge towards the 5000 needed to power the containment system and seal Project E20 inside.
The event runs from 26th to 31st October 2026, 4pm to 10pm, with a standard ticket including access to the ArcelorMittal Orbit, the scare maze and the Helix slide. Please note, the event is for ages 9 and over, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

About our experience…
Project E20 at the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower is one of the newest events to make its way to the London scene, giving people in central London a unique event this Halloween. Now run by Zip World, they have a history in creating haunting overlays to their existing thrilling attractions, with many of their sites being in Wales. Whilst we’ve not had the opportunity to see them during the Halloween season, we have heard good feedback and outside of this time of year, they’ve been a real thrilling and fun experience.
Project E20 saw us arrive at the Zip World London at our arrival time where we checked in. We put all loose belongings in a free locker (not £1 as the website states so worth noting) and waited until they were ready for us. There was a health and safety video to watch and this was for the slide element only, as they still have to follow normal operation protocol here.
We then made our way outside and to the bottom of the orbit tower, where we then got dressed in the safety gear. This was some headwear and some elbow pads. The staff here were dressed up and it was a nice little touch. Once we were ready, they sent us into the elevator to where our experience properly began…
Project E20
WOO – enjoyment | WOO – concept | BOO – theming
In the lift, we had a chaperone who took us to the top to make sure we arrived safely however, before we could question anything, the door shut and he just stood there, in silence, staring at the door. By the time we got to the top, it turns out he had turned and he was actually a zombie guiding us to the horde! This was then followed by having a range of zombies come after us in a mini maze 80 metres above the London skyline. This was until we reached the slide and then could escape back down to safety, or so we thought…
This was enjoyed to see something so different come together. Whilst simple, it was great for them to put on an out-of-hours event to do the slide in the dark and have a mini maze element. Unfortunately the theming did fall a little flat, as the maze section was just fencing, black graffiti sheets and that’s it. We expect this is due to operating during the day and space limiting however, we would love to see more relating to the story and improving the quality of the theming for a premium charging experience. We also would have loved to have seen something highlighting to the story, as it mentioned each slide down built kinetic energy to help save London from the virus, but that didn’t come into it anywhere when we arrived.
That said, it has a great concept that if they continued to work on, along with their uniqueness of being an attraction, they would be really successful.
Our time at Zip World London was short but sweet. We enjoyed our dark ride on the slide which is really thrilling, even at night as we thought it might be a little too dark but it still worked well. We enjoyed going through the mini maze and believe they have the elements to make this bigger, better and more impressive in future years.
A huge thank you to the team for working with us and allowing us to visit. They did provide us complimentary entry in return for our honest feedback and content.
They are running for only a few evenings this Halloween, so make sure you buy your tickets to take a further look and save London from the virus!
