Voted as one of top 25 haunts in the world, Farmaggedon is a thrilling Halloween night out with award winning attractions that has been around for over a decade. Starting small as a single scare house, they’ve now created a multi-dimensional event that people flock to every October to try out their adrenaline pumping haunts. With 4 mazes, 3 stages of entertainment, food, drink and an incredible street team, there is so much to see & experience at Farmaggedon 2024.
You can find Farmaggedon in Lancashire, which is in the north of the UK. They are easy to find on your satnav and provide a free car park outside of the entrance of the event. They opened the season on September 28th and run through to November 1st on selected nights. Tickets start from £30 per person and they have a tier system with the ultimate tickets starting from £47.50. They have intake times when booking, so you can arrive from either 7pm, 7:30pm or 8:15pm but, they keep the queues open until 11:15pm each evening, so you have plenty of time.
There is lots outside of the 4 main mazes to do at Farmaggedon, from the Zombie Warzone attraction which is an upcharge paintball attraction. You also have the Fear Go Round, which is a small Funfair area with rides like the waltzers in. They have DJs, a live band, aerial acts and a whole schedule of entertainment every night. Below we give you our thoughts on our visit on a Saturday night.

Our First thoughts…
This would be our second ever visit to Farmaggedon, as our last visit was 5 years ago! We were a little apprehensive as the lineup and event seemed very similar even 5 years on but, we were happy to give it a shot. On arrival, we found it to be super organized to get into the event. They had multiple check points, with a bag check, then a ID check before your tickets being scanned and to get into the event. There were so many characters out and roaming at the start, with us seeing demons in a bed, clowns and even Donald Trump!
Wandering around, they had so many hubs of entertainment. Not only did they have two main stages named Freddy and Jason, they had Freak Street which had a party atmosphere with smoke and lasers with party music, they had the House of Rock which features in the queue line for The Beast of Terror maze. So with Freak Street covering Contagions queue and The House of Rock covering The Beast of Terror, this means 2 of the queues had incredible entertainment to keep you busy whilst you waited, which was so fun.
We enjoyed the DJ and dancers plus the band and other freaky acts across the night. We had plenty of time to see all that and do each of the mazes. As you only get to experience the mazes once, you have more than enough time to check out everything Farmaggedon has to offer.

Contagion – Scare Score: 65%

If we didn’t think the queue area for The Beast of Terror was insane, then Contagion brings the party atmosphere as it’s located on Freak Street. An area full of smoke, club music and lasers. If you time it right, a DJ and the roaming street team might come and take it to a whole another level. But moving onto the actual maze, you enter a pre show area which is a little more sinister with a large clown head that talks to you, making jokes and sets the story. Then, you enter into a trippy UV funhouse where not only the sets become 3D. Thanks to the glasses and paint used, everything is so different with the characters having another layer to them, with their funky props and disorientating backdrops. It’s fun to see Farmaggedon take on a classic clown maze this Halloween.
The Meat Locker – Scare Score: 83%

Meat Locker started with a great introduction scene, using a German butcher, a voice over and even some special effects. Creating terror from the very beginning. As we made our way through, we had so many double scares, being attacked from both sides and if it wasn’t from our sides, it was from the most hidden spots. The petrifying inhabitants gave scare after scare and when this stopped, it was to create some funny & comedic moments before pouncing on us once more. With a great mix of large open rooms followed by tight walkways, it allowed them to work in the environment to give everything they got. Then exiting from of an out of action Portaloo was quite funny!
The Beast of Terror – Scare Score: 77%

Beast of Terror probably has one of the best queue lines for any scare attraction you’ve ever done. With a large structure with dancers, dancing to thumping rock songs whilst you wait. You cannot be bored and actually want to wait before you going into the maze. But as soon as you step inside, the maze takes a much darker turn with some jaw dropping sets. With the maze being pretty dark and twisted, you got to see many creepy characters that interacted with you from within the shadows. We absolutely adored the creepiness of the theming inside, from church scenes to haunting graveyards, it was all done to a high level of detail.
Maze of Death – Scare Score: 48%

The maze of death takes you into a literal maze with it being a smoked filled passageway into the unknown. With a tight walkway and what feels like you’re going round in circles, you keep heading forwards to try and find an escape route. Inside we encountered a handful of spooky monsters who didn’t want to let us go. Some lurked in the shadows whilst others came running through the smoke to find us. A very simple attraction in terms of theming and story, but an enjoyable attraction for those scared of chainsaws and the unknown.
Zombie Warzone – Scare Score: 49%

This is an upcharge attraction regardless of your ticket type of being standard or fastrack. As a paintball experience, you join the military and take on the zombies in defending the fight to save humanity. With lots of effects from fire, smoke, lights and water, it was a really fun paintball experience and one of the best ones we’ve seen. This is stationary, so they have a set field and area this takes place in. The story of the invasion is very detailed and takes you through many scenes with a voiceover narrated story. Sadly, the constant upselling of the paintballs was too noticeable, with it being mentioned every few minutes. As you only get 60 balls, you could buy more but these were not cheap, with it being around £10 for another tube. With lots of fire and fun, if you want the opportunity to shoot some zombies this Halloween then this is perfect for you.
Our night with Farmaggedon was a blast, with us being surprised & shocked with how they’ve mastered a Halloween event with the attractions and entertainment they have. With a chaotic party vibe taking over most of the event, don’t let this fool you that they are not scary or intense. We loved the blend of horror and party which is showcased around the whole event. With all the entertainment hubs and a range of music, acts and street performers, you will struggle to be bored even in a queue when it’s busy. We loved Meat Locker for the intense scares, Freak Street for the excellent DJ and club like vibes and how fun the street team was.
