Our First Thoughts from this event… 

Once we found the venue, we stepped into the bar & lounge area where you are welcomed by the team. For those who have booked an experience, they will check you in here at the bar by checking your tickets and then giving you a buzzer. This buzzer is like the ones given to you when you order food or waiting for a table, so once it buzzes you know its your time to start the experience. Tickets are sold in different time slots, so if you do arrive before or on time, you may have a little bit of a wait time for the attractions. 

Whilst you are waiting however, you can take a seat and listen to the music playing. This was current pop songs with a decent sound system, with a funky lighting package. You can also grab some snacks & drinks at the bar, with them being reasonably cheap. We tried out several of the themed cocktails, some sour test tube shots and even some festive Halloween sweets. 

Whilst we waited, we managed to catch the live fire performer who performs out the front. They performed your typical fire show but with the flames she was conjuring up, it caught the attention of many people outside & inside. 

Before long, our buzzer went off and it was our time to enter the attractions. Read below to see our thoughts on the two experiences plus a little sneaky look inside.

Black Void

Theming 70% | Storyline 85% | Screams 60% | Laughs 75% | Actors 75%

Black Void is the scare maze attraction at the venue and instead of heading down into the basement like Transcendent, you head up the stairs to the Neuromaxx lab. This corporation was setup to test a new drug but the facility was shut down many years ago. Now, you step inside and take on the new drug trials. This new drug was set to unlock your mind to its full potential however, the side effects could let out the darker side and who knows, is what you seeing a figure of imagination or real? 

This used a mixture of scare scenes, storytelling and even escape room elements blended in to create this attraction. The interaction between the characters of the story and your involvement meant for a very personal experience, with some creative scenes within. As the story takes you from taking the drug to then a mixture of test rooms and disturbing patient rooms to optical illusion scenes, you really do feel tripped out. At many moments we totally forgot where we were and for the space they had, they created an immersive petrifying maze hidden within a Preston club.
