Flight Club Social Darts

Welcome to the home of unexpected, ridiculous, joy as Flight Club brings darts into the 21st century with a tech uplift. Enjoy fast-paced games, glorious cocktails and delicious food in one of many venues they have scattered across the globe. For those who don’t know who or what Flight Club is, they have introduced Social Darts to the game which is designed to bring people together and become hooked on this new and interactive entertainment.

Flight Club is a company that has quickly expanded and come from humble beginnings, as the idea was first thought back in 2012 by the owners. After several years of development, throwing a million test darts in a shed in their own garden, Flight Club was born in 2015 in their first venue, Flight Club Shoreditch!

Since the first location opened, they have now branched out all over the UK with more venues in London, Bristol and even Manchester to name a few. They have even gone over seas to reach the US audience and Australia too. They are now looking to expand ever further to Scotland with 2 venues opening later in 2023 in Glasgow & Edinburgh.

With Flight Club expanding rapidly, we thought it was about time we checked out what all the fuss is about as we took a visit to the first opened venue in Shoreditch.

With any Flight Club location and any experience in a busy area, it is always best to book online prior to visiting to guarantee your game. On the website, you can select your location and decide how many players you are wishing to book for along with how long you wish to play. Sessions are best booked in either 60 or 90 minute slots, with it costing around £10 per person for 60 minutes and £13 per person for 90 minutes, so a great affordable experience. Groups larger than 12 guests will be split across playing areas but they can be assigned next to each other.

When you arrive at the venue, you just need to provide your name or booking reference at the check in area and you will be guided to your oche. The oche is your own semi-private playing area which is exclusive to your group for the time that you have booked. Here you will play some Social Darts, eat, drink and maybe even celebrate if you’re lucky to win a game!

It is recommended to arrive to arrive prior to your booking slot, so you do not waste any time. You may lose out on some gameplay if you arrive late into your slot.

Each Oche comes with storage space for bags, hooks to hang your coats, plenty of table space and a lovely sofa with a front row view of the dart board & screen. Before you can start playing, you will need to set yourself up on the screen, which is simple and only takes a moment. You can set your screen name and take a photo which will be shown on the screen when playing. Once you have done this, you can get straight into the games.

With this being Social Darts, it isn’t just regular darts, and they are multiple mini games with different goals in each one. So, you don’t need to worry if you are no good at regular darts as Social Darts gives everybody a fair chance in winning.

They have mini games like Donkey Derby where you need to get your horse across the finish line by hitting certain sections of the board. Quack Shot where you need to score as many bullseyes as possible or even the classic game Snakes & Ladders, which your dice roll is determined by what you hit on the board. Each game requires different skills and brings a lot of fun & competitiveness. Depending on how many players, each game can last around 10-20 minutes based on 5 of us playing in our experience, so you may not get to experience all of the games on your first session with Flight Club!

Whilst you are having the best time hopefully winning at some of the games, it is a great idea to get some food & drink when visiting. They have a great range on offer with a full bar service as well as some food options like pizza. We celebrated with a glass of prosecco and had some shareable pizzas along with the trio of fries during our visit. As you can see in the images, the portion sizing is pretty incredible and offers a lot for a great little feast when playing.

One of our guests during our visit Savannah mentioned; “We tried a couple of the Flight Club pizza paddles alongside a trio of straight, curly and sweet potato fries. This was ideal grazing food for whilst we were distracted with game play – as you could keep nipping back for more nibbles between games. Overall we found the fries and pizzas were ideal for providing an indulgent carby hit whilst playing – and they all disappeared pretty quickly!”

After you have had time to play some of the games, had a sip to drink and munched on some pizza, you will be surprised how quick the time goes as you are given a timer that your session is about to come to an end. At the end of the experience, you can see who has done the best with a trophy system on the screen showing who was the best in that session. Shortly after your visit also, they will send you a link to your story at Flight Club, with a range of photos and videos taken during your experience which is great to look back on and a nice free extra they have added on.

Our guest Ben mentioned; “It was a great venue with nice interior and a very solid range of games. It had enough variety to stop the game of darts feel boring”. Whilst our guest Peter said, “Flight Club is an exciting experience for anyone looking for a unique and modern twist on traditional darts. With a nice selection of games and a reasonable time frame to complete, Flight Club provides plenty of fun and entertainment for all”.

Dean highlighted by saying, “The experience really knew how to redefine darts and make the experience extra fun. It was handy having the scores recorded automatically, though we did have to edit a few that misread, overall, it worked very well. The game selection was brilliant and each different to the last. My personal favourite was snakes and ladders where the roll of the dice was dependant on the accuracy of your darts, but also so easy to make the wrong move by accident!”

Finally, Austyn mentioned, “I loved our time at Flight Club and it went by so quick. I enjoyed a slice or two of pizza, a glass of prosecco and playing each of the mini games in our Oche. The Oche space has been done so well giving you your own space to play with plenty of room to move around and socialising with your friends whilst waiting for your time to shine.”

A huge thank you to the team at Flight Club for letting us come and visit in March. They supplied us with a free 90-minute game for our team of 5, whilst providing us some free pizzas, fries and bottle of prosecco.  We loved our time here and cannot wait to return one day in a new venue which could be near you soon, if not already!
