Awaken Your Inner Adventurer at Futuroscope
Step into the extraordinary and awaken the adventurer within you. At Futuroscope, you can travel to Mars on a coaster, jump into a tornado, dance with robots, or even meet the Rabbids—all in one location. The park promises to deliver a series of unique, first-class experiences to around 2 million guests every year.
The last few years have been particularly exciting for the park, which has rebranded as Futuroscope Xperiences. Recent developments include new hotels, first-of-a-kind rides, and even a futuristic waterpark. With over 40 shows and attractions within the main park alone, you’ll discover a world of wonders that offers a completely different day out compared to any other theme park.
Getting to Futuroscope
Futuroscope is located in Poitiers, France. From the UK, there are many different ways to get there. Flying is probably the most convenient option, as Poitiers has its own airport with direct flights from London Stansted. Alternatively, there are many nearby airports; we chose to fly into Nantes and took a two-hour drive to save some money. If you prefer to drive, you can take the Eurotunnel or a ferry, though this will involve a longer journey. If you’re already in France, the area is easily accessible by train, coach, or bus. For the most up-to-date advice on all these options, the Futuroscope website is a great resource.
Tickets and Opening Hours
The park is open seven days a week during peak times, but off-peak you may find mid-week closures from Monday to Wednesday. It is always wise to check the live calendar on the website, as tickets can sell out. While private events do occur on particular days, they are very limited. Opening hours are usually quite generous, with the park typically open from 9-10 AM until 10 PM on peak days and weekends. Adult ticket prices vary, but on peak days, you can expect to pay around 56 euros online or 63 euros for an open-dated ticket. Reduced entry is available after 5 PM and 7 PM for guests who only wish to spend a few hours in the evening. Additionally, the park frequently offers great deals throughout the year, such as a third day free or ticket bundles if you book a hotel stay.
Mission Bermudes: A World-First Aquatic Adventure
Futuroscope’s brand-new-for-2025 attraction, Mission Bermudes, is an extraordinary, world-first ride type from MACK Rides, known as a Rocking Boat. The ride is designed to perfectly simulate being on a real boat, complete with natural swings and unexpected movements. With sections of the track submerged underwater, guests have no idea which direction they’re heading in, making for an unpredictable journey.
The queue line features a series of engaging videos that delve into the Bermuda Triangle theme, which were a welcome distraction on a long day. You also pass through and around impressive themed sets that truly set the scene. As you step onto the ride, your journey begins with a relatively calm section before you enter much rougher waters. This is where you can get properly soaked, especially if you’re in the front row as water crashes in from above. With many splashing effects and fun, interactive elements, the ride is truly different and enjoyable.
The adventure concludes as you ascend an elevator and plunge down a big splashdown to finish your journey. As the only ride of its kind currently open, Mission Bermudes offers a glimpse into what this innovative ride system can achieve. We absolutely loved the rapid sections and found ourselves riding them again and again. On a hot day like ours, the chance to get a soaker was very much welcomed! This ride is a perfect fit for Futuroscope as a thrilling water attraction that’s unlike anything else you’ll find.
Objectif Mars & Tornado Chasers: Two Standout Attractions
Over the last five years, Futuroscope’s expansion has brought a number of significant new rides to the park, including Objectif Mars. This Intamin-manufactured, family-friendly spinning coaster offers a space journey, taking you through a realistic training center. The queue line, while lengthy, features engaging interactive elements like photo opportunities, props, and videos to keep you occupied.
Opened in 2020, Objectif Mars stands out from your average spinning coaster due to its wealth of unique effects. It features a dark ride section, two thrilling launches, fire effects, a drop track, and, of course, the signature spinning cars. It was great to get several rides in and see the spinning feature fully operational again, as this element had been turned off for the last few years. It’s a worthwhile ride for families and anyone looking for a coaster with a bit of a quirky twist.
Another major highlight is Tornado Chasers (Chasseurs de Tornades), which opened in 2022 and has since won multiple awards, including a prestigious Thea Award. The ride’s story follows a team of storm chasers on a mission to get into the eye of a storm to test a new machine. The experience begins with a fairly lengthy pre-show that masterfully blends live scenes with a video recording, blurring the lines between reality and technology.
The ride itself is a sight to behold, accommodating up to 120 riders on a spinning disk at the center of the room. Surrounding you is a spectacular 360-degree screen that immerses you in the heart of the storm. As the story progresses, the platform spins, tilts, rises, and falls in a truly incredible visual experience. If that weren’t enough, the screens can open up to reveal live scenes, again making you question what is real or not. We have never been on a ride before where we were genuinely guessing what was real due to the high quality of the video and the flawless timing of the live scenes. This is an outstanding ride and easily one of our favorite attractions we have ever done!
@thrillnation What a throwback, Raving Rabbids had the best video games 😂 Even better they still live on, and seem more popular than ever in France at @Futuroscope 🐰 #ravingrabbids #rayman #lapins #lapinscretins #themepark #character #meetandgreet #ride #futuroscope #francais ♬ original sound - RabbidsInvasion

More Favorites and Unique Attractions
Among our other favorites was Dances with Robots, a robot arm-based ride where you are spun, flipped, and thrown around to music from DJ Martin Solveig. With ten robot arms in operation, the queues moved incredibly quickly, which was a huge bonus. You also have Hydro Dynamo, a Wild Swing ride from ART Engineering that opened in 2024. While these attractions may look tame from the outside, they are surprisingly fun to experience, and it’s great to see more of them appearing in Europe.
The Time Machine was another unexpected highlight. This dark ride, themed around the chaotic Rabbids, features a queue line filled with practical jokes and a well-themed indoor area that includes a photo gallery with a twist. The ride system itself is quite unique, as you sit on a toilet-themed seat that drops at various points while you travel through time. The objective is to witness the Rabbids causing chaos, destruction, and hilariously messing with history. The Raving Rabbids are truly a crazy bunch, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch them roaming the park for a photo opportunity.
A World of Spectacular Shows
Beyond the thrilling, world-class attractions, Futuroscope also offers a variety of spectacular shows, which may vary depending on the season. During our visit in the peak of summer, we were lucky enough to experience two of them. The first was a mesmerising robotic show that featured a robotic arm. Utilizing a stage with projection mapping, screens, and lasers, the performance was a truly captivating blend of technology and artistry.
To cap off the day, you can watch The Key to Dreams at the outdoor lake arena. Before the main event, the park hosted plenty of warm-up activities involving crowd participation. Although we had no idea what was going on, with kids dancing on chairs and adults moving wildly, it was clear that everyone was having a fantastic time and was full of energy.
The show itself featured some elements we had not seen on this scale before. The 3D aquatic effects were simply incredible, looking especially cool in the darkness of the evening. The show masterfully combined fire, lasers, and water fountains, all synchronized with music to tell the story of a sandman. We absolutely loved this 20-minute finale to our day, and it stood out as one of our favorite shows thanks to the stunning and impressive laser effects.
There is so much to see and do at Futuroscope, and the above only covers a small portion of our favorites from the two days we spent there. The park also features plenty of self-operating rides, more shows we didn’t get to explore, mind-bending simulators, a Skybar, and numerous smaller rides for the younger audience. You could easily spend multiple days here and have a completely different experience each day.
We would highly recommend checking the app and screens during your visit, as many rides have staggered opening times and closing times each day, which did catch us off guard. Equally, the rides take longer than expected due to pre show times, so when a usual theme park ride may last a few minutes, here it can last 10-20 minutes each.
The park offers a fantastic variety of food and drink, with a different culinary experience in each restaurant—you’ll rarely see the same things on offer. With a mix of self-service and waiter-service restaurants, we could easily find something to eat or drink with minimal wait times. It’s also home to the Space Loop Restaurant, a coaster restaurant similar to FoodLoop at Europa Park and the Rollercoaster Restaurant at Alton Towers Resort!
We can’t fully express how much we loved Futuroscope during our visit. The park doesn’t feel like a typical theme park; it feels like something more—something different. Every single ride and attraction gave us something new and exciting to experience. And even though some of the shows are in French, the park has designed them so that a global audience can still enjoy and be wowed by the attractions. With so many highlights like Mission Bermudes, Tornado Chasers, and The Time Machine, this place is truly superb.
A huge thank you to the team at Futuroscope for working with us on our most recent visit. They provided us with a complimentary visit for two guests and special permission to film on the rides and attractions in return for our honest review and content.
You can find a wide range of our videos from inside Futuroscope on our TikTok, and we eagerly look forward to our next trip, hopefully in the near future!
