There are several changes that have been made to the rollercoaster to improve the ride experience. Gravity Group’s Vertical Engineered Track has been installed as a complete re-track on the main first drop which is now re-profiled to be even steeper, whilst improving the smoothness on the sweeping turn at the bottom of the drop. Next is the small airtime hill that follows on from it which has now been updated to feature a double-down after it which gives an extra noticeable airtime moment. After the turnaround and next drop, a double-up element has been added giving a different intensity of airtime depending where you are sitting. Alongside the layout changes, approximately 40% of the coaster has received work on it.

We love Megafobia! In recent years we have noticed the ride experience had gotten significantly rougher and reduced the number of times we could cope with riding it in quick succession. This refurbishment was much needed and has been done to perfection. It’s once again become a really enjoyable and re-rideable experience, whilst being better than ever.

We’d like to thank Oakwood Theme Park for providing us access to the ‘new and improved’ Megafobia after park hours to film on-ride the attraction as filming is not allowed during park hours. We did also visit ourselves during their summer After Dark event the day prior and got plenty of rides in on Megafobia, the rest of the park and of course the entertainment shows!
