LOCATION & TICKETS

Heading to Monopoly Lifesized couldn’t be easier as it is located in Central London. Found on Tottenham Court Road, you can get here by multiple tube routes, such as the Northern line to Goodge Street, or using the Central or Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Road, or finally the Victoria line to Warren Street. You can of course take the bus or a taxi and drive nearby if you are crazy enough to do so in London. 

You can find the venue with it’s gigantic Monopoly sign which can be seen from a fair distance away and from here, the next steps are easy. 

Tickets are of course recommended to be purchased online as an experience like this does often sell out. They are best purchased directly from the Monopoly Lifesized website, where you can select one of the multiple board options and how many players. Teams are of 6 people, so teams of smaller sizing may be split or joined up accordingly, as each session caters for 24 players, being 4 teams of 6. 

The price of a single adult ticket ranges depends of the time of booking. This ranges from £49 being the cheapest we currently can see through to £64 being the most expensive. There is an offer for a post game cocktail which costs slightly more and a discount code section for those who may see any discount codes given throughout the year.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Our experience begins shortly after checking in at the reception / entrance of the building. When it is your turn to play, you have a buzzer which signals you to meet back at the meeting point. Here you get a fun photo done which you can purchase after. Here we met Mr. Monopoly himself who gave us a little breakdown of what to expect and got us hyped for our immersive experience. 

We moved onto the rule room which splits you into your teams if you are not already, you get to meet the tokens that will be playing with you during the next 80 minutes and watching a short video on the rules of the game. Whilst most know how to play the board game, the real life version does have some adaptions to make it all work! 

Once you have signed the waiver and are all ready to go, you start your journey to the gameboard you have selected and take a tour of all the spaces before meeting in the middle of the game field to begin playing. This was a great introduction to the experience, as everything is explained clearly and you get to see everything before the chaos begins!

As you are playing the game, time goes really fast and before you know it, your experience is up. Some of our favourite moments in the game was the interaction with the game tokens. The role of these characters is to direct the game from start to finish and assist you where needed. We had two tokens in our game, being Tom ‘Cruise’ and the T-Rex, and they played a vital and excellent part in our experience. From the puns to keeping the chaos under control whilst keeping the fun levels super high for all players. 

Before you get to the end, all the properties you purchase and money gained throughout are added up to give one large score. The team with the highest amount of money with properties and hotels/houses combined would be the winner. With a large safe to be opened, we got to see that we came 3rd! With the winner of the game having a large lead on most of us and for doing so, they won a randomly allocated prize to be redeemed in Monopoly Lifesized. 

At the end of the experience, you are allowed to get a few pictures of the game board but not within the challenge rooms themselves, as these are secret to each board. We were allowed some exclusive pictures and filming permission during the game, so you can see a little more than most prior to visiting.
