INTRODUCTION
Prepare for a fangtastic time and plenty of fun this October, as Pleasurewood Hills transforms into Pleasurewood Chills during the half-term week! The event offers spooky additions, including two scare mazes, pumpkin carving, and a chance to see the park mascot dressed in spooky attire. The event runs from September 25th to October 2nd. On the final night, October 2nd, the park adds even more entertainment, featuring a DJ and live fireworks to end the season with a bang! Throughout the day, the theme park operates as usual, and you can enjoy all the rides. This year sees the return of the two popular mazes: Shaft 13 and Hell Express. However, it has been confirmed that Hell Express is running for its final year, as the train departs the park at the end of the season to make way for future expansion—so catch it while you can! Park admission tickets are normal price, starting from £19.50, and the park is usually open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM minimum. The two scare mazes are available as an upcharge, costing £5 each. Pleasurewood Chills is easily found in the Lowestoft area in Suffolk and charges £3 for parking.

THE OVERALL EVENT…

Our day at Pleasurewood Hills started bright and early as we arrived for the 10:00 AM opening. Unfortunately, not all the rides were ready at this time. Even during our visit (which concluded at 2:00 PM), we never saw Wipeout or Cannonball Express, two of the park’s major coasters, open.
We did enjoy a walk around, though the park felt a little empty. We had a quick queue for Marble Madness, which was a blast and a ride we hadn’t been on in a while. We filled the time by riding the dodgems and a few other attractions, and thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Lion Show at midday.
The park offers a fantastic, low price point for entry, starting at just £19.50, making it super affordable for the whole family. Even the two scare mazes only cost an additional £5 per person as an upcharge.
The main downside is the limited entertainment offering on most days; aside from pumpkin carving, there isn’t much spooky entertainment unless you visit on the final closing day. Facilities across Pleasurewood Hills are decent, with plenty available and never a queue to use them.
With the park recently receiving a new owner, we are optimistic and hope to see investment that allows them to grow, acquire new rides, and fully invest in great events like their Halloween offering, which we absolutely love!

We had a fun few hours at Pleasurewood Hills for the Pleasurewood Chills event. We genuinely love the park and know the team is friendly, passionate, and working hard amidst challenging times.
While the ride lineup and maintenance need attention to be more reliable—and new attractions are required to encourage repeat visits—the cheap park ticket still makes it worth the visit for the excellent value.
The two scare mazes remain very good for a park of this size. Looking ahead to 2026, we hope to see the event add more family-friendly mazes and supplementary entertainment to make a Halloween visit feel distinct from a normal day at the park.
With the new owners now in charge, we look forward to a promising 2026 year for the park and will be keeping a close eye on what we can expect for Halloween and beyond!
