Our First thoughts… 

This was our second ever time visiting PrimEvil, with our last visit being in 2021. Whilst the maze lineup remains very similar, we did remember the event to have some fun unique elements not seen elsewhere, but had so much potential with many points of improvement. Since then to be branded as the best scream park, it peaked our interest in returning to see what all the fuss is about and to see if we agreed.

Heading into the event, we had a short wait to get our tickets but this queue and area had plenty of actors keeping you entertained. Heading into the event, we had a VIP wristband so we knew we could do the mazes as much as we liked, so we managed to get them all done early on before it got busy.

The event seemed to be missing a bit of atmosphere outside of the band playing on the main stage. With dark pathways and a small entertainment hub which consisted of food places, a bar and stage, we expected something a little more. We did enjoy the interactions with the roaming street team, such as the one with the flamethrower on top of the archway, which was fantastic to see. We also loved the predator high ropes, which whilst had nothing spooky going on about it, outside of doing it in the dark, it was certainly fun & different.

The Crypt – Scare Score: 65%

Inside a beautifully themed church, you are welcomed by the father and his nuns inside the house of faith. You will encounter pitch black horror as the black death has taken over inside, with those inside being dammed for forever. Entering into the darkness, we encountered so many creepy creatures that sent chills down our spine. Trying to follow the walls without our vision yet not even being hooded, prays on the fear of those scared of the dark. Whilst getting lighter in the second half, the maze was filled with clever hiding spots and clever lighting tricks. One of our favourites from the night for sure.

Circus of Terror- Scare Score: 63%

Prepare to freak out in the circus of terror, where you will be clowning around in this party. They have brought the fun in this haunt, with it having so many unique elements. From a spinning floor to silent disco headphones to climbing inside a ball pit, they have it all. They manage to still keep it spooky enough with the clowns hiding about however, it did feel a little light in many areas. Due to this, the terror just didn’t feel like it existed, but with the only maze with headphones we are likely to do this year, it’s fun to see different techniques being used to keep the clown concept alive.
