Screamfest Burton Review ()

INTRODUCTION

Screamfest Burton is back for another season of screams, thrills, and haunting chills! Get ready to #Livingthescream with five scare mazes and a whole host of immersive entertainment.

The lineup features plenty to keep you busy: a brand-new maze for 2025, Mutation Damnation, a new overlay for the returning Freakout, plus three other fan-favorite attractions.

The event is hosted at the National Forest Adventure Park in Burton-on-Trent and offers free car parking for all guests.

Screamfest runs on selected nights from October 10th to November 1st, with hours from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM—giving you plenty of time to enjoy everything on offer.

They offer a range of ticket options—Standard, Fastrack, and RIP—each providing a different experience level. Costs start from £43 for a Standard Pass, which grants you unlimited entry to the five main mazes. Note that Area 52 is an upcharge experience, but it can be included in some of the higher-tier ticket types.

THE OVERALL EVENT…

WOO – Facilities | WOO – Roaming Characters | BOO – Location

Screamfest Burton always delivers a lot of fun and scares, making it a consistently great event year after year. It was nice to see several minor improvements across the park, most notably the overlay to the Freakout maze and the new theme for the corn maze, Mutation Damnation.

The immersive entertainment was a major highlight. We managed to catch up with our favorite resident roaming character, Babs, who is still very sassy but also delightfully stabby. We also enjoyed the flash mob that broke out a few times a night in the first hub area, and the stage show—featuring circus acts and a live band in the second hub—was good quality.

The roaming characters outside of Babs were equally fantastic. Even while queueing to get in, we met a man with his real pet snake, which was enough to send shivers down our spine before we even entered the first attraction!

The weakest point of Screamfest Burton remains its location. It’s not the easiest to get to, and traveling by car seems to be the best option. However, once you arrive, the facilities are excellent, featuring good-quality toilets and undercover queues and parking.

Screamfest Burton continues to be a consistently fun Halloween night out, filled with plenty of scares and extra thrills. We thoroughly enjoyed the changes and spending a whole night at the event. The time truly disappears, and even with our Fastrack passes, the queues became minimal as the night neared its end.

A smart addition this year is their dedicated mobile app, one of the few in the industry. You can download it to see current queue times and get extra information on your night—a handy feature that eliminates the guesswork of waiting in line.

The event remains very popular, and tickets are selling out quickly for the rest of the run. If you want to visit this year, make sure to book sooner rather than later!

A huge thank you to the team for inviting us to experience another season. They provided us with complimentary tickets in return for our review and ratings. Unfortunately, we were unable to capture any photos or videos inside the attractions this year.
