Experience a world of fear once more with our award-winning event from last year, Stourbridge Scare Maze.
Face your fears as you step inside a 12,000 square foot terror-filled environment. Inside, you’ll find several horror themes and creations. This attraction is designed to be one of the scariest in the UK, with a huge team of actors hiding around every corner, lots of special effects, and high-quality theming. The terrifying experiences are spread across three floors, with every corner you turn unleashing a possible new theme, meaning you are never safe.
Stourbridge Scare Maze has been around for many years and is located in the town of Stourbridge, close to Wolverhampton. They can be easily found in a large unit in the town centre using Google Maps. While there is only a maze here, you can easily find toilets, food, and drink, and other places to enjoy in the local town.
The team behind Stourbridge Scare Maze also looks after the brand-new Aztec Minigolf, which is a short walk from the maze. You can find more information about Aztec Minigolf here.
Stourbridge Scare Maze ran throughout October and early November on selected dates, mainly Friday through Sunday. Slots were from 5 pm to 10 pm each night, with each ticket granting you one-time access to the 20-30 minute experience.

Our First thoughts…
Stourbridge Scare Maze was something we were really terrified yet excited to experience once again in 2024. They won the award for the scariest maze in the UK last year. They were also a runner-up for one of the best themed mazes across the UK. This meant they had a high bar to maintain for 2024. It is always very difficult to know before we go, as we don’t see much from inside the attraction due to guests not being able to film inside.
Stourbridge Scare Maze is not an event as such and is just a scare maze in the town centre. The maze is limited in what it can do and how long you can spend there. However, this allows the team to focus solely on the maze and provide the best experience for all customers.
Upon our arrival, there was already a significant queue for the first slot. People were ready and eager to get inside. There is always a small wait for any attraction, and we believe the team does a good job of managing the queue while keeping people in small groups. The timeslot entry allows them to do this and keeps the queue more staggered.
A huge shout-out to the friendly security guard who was super friendly to those in the queue. He kept people talking and excited while they waited.
Below we go into more depth about the main attraction, giving you our thoughts and rating. Our ratings are completely separate and allows us to give a fair unbiased rating of each attraction. To know more about the ratings before you read below, do click here!

Stourbridge did not disappoint with their creation this year. The maze still shows so many themed areas, all heavily themed. From wooden cabins to a demonic church. And then through to sewer tunnels. While most of it is similar or the same to the previous year, with some areas of changes and improvements, it just shows that what they have works. The new areas are just the next level up. The improved behind-the-scenes technology allows for more soundtracks and special effects than ever before. This was shown really well during the new finale, which was truly terrifying.
This meant the scares inside were intensely frightening. We were left sweating when we left the attraction. This is managed from a wide array of things, mainly from the themed environments and, of course, the actors. They are very hands-on and have no problems getting up close, grabbing you, moving you, and taking you to the floor if need be. While there were a few moments of extreme intensity, most of the scares were just perfect.
While you are trying to escape from the fear, you still have many enjoyable moments. There are clever interactions that add some elements to the story inside. While the story is the weaker side of Stourbridge Scare Maze, for a 20-25 minute maze, they do manage to keep you jumping all the way through. Our favorite moments have to be the ending this year. It’s a more show-like scene that concludes the experience in a new way we’ve never seen from the team before. Trust us, you would be running out too if you saw it!
Stourbridge Scare Maze is still one of the scariest mazes in the UK. The maze uses many different themes, such as clowns, butchers, and dark spaces. The actors are intense and they interact with the guests. This creates a level of fear that is unmatched. It’s important to note that this is just a maze, not an event. This means that the entertainment and atmosphere scores are low.
We would like to thank the creators for inviting us to cover the maze. They gave us permission to film and take photos inside. They also gave us free tickets in return for our review, comments, and social media content. The maze is now closed for 2024, but it will return in 2025.
The maze is constantly improving, so we’re excited to see what they come up with next. In the meantime, follow them on social media and check out our TikTok to see us react to the scares.
