THE OVERALL EVENT…
WOO – side shows | Boo – uniqueness | Woo – roaming characters
Trinity Scares is back for another year and we’ve managed to visit them for our second ever time. After a really unique, successful first visit last season, we had to make sure to get a visit in once more for 2026. This year, they have a brand new maze and several updates along the way across the whole event. They have shows in the big top tent which are on throughout the evening, which we managed to catch one of. They had a great lighting rig, a thumping soundtrack and plenty of spectacles to be seen.
One part where Trinity Scares really shines has to be their side show offering. It’s so unique and different to most places we’ve been. They have bumper cars, a fortune teller for free, some carnival games to play for free and also something called The Cave, which is an upcharge but takes you through a very claustrophobic tunnel system as you try to escape. Not forgetting the pumpkin ride which is a unique take on bucking bull ride. All of these combined for an event of this scale is really impressive, with many of them included in your ticket price.
We found the weakest element to be the roaming characters this year. Whilst we had one great interaction with a creepy cinema host, with disgusting snacks, there was none in the queues or roaming about that we could see. We understand the weather was extremely bad on the night due to the storm and might have just not crossed paths however, this is what we saw on the night.
However, this can really be overlooked when the event is unique and it’s a privilege to have something like this in the UK scare scene. If the hub itself hasn’t got enough, the scare attractions they have will certainly make you see why you should visit Trinity Scares.
Cell block T – New for 2026
WOO – Actor performance | WOO – lighting & SFX | BOO – Theming
Cell Block T is the new attraction and takes over the theme of prisoners across the whole maze. The inmates inside knew the assignment and made us feel as uncomfortable as possible, with the aggression and chaos. There were so many great scenes with the jail mates, from the laundry scene where they do more than just that there, the search scene where they confiscated our phones temporarily and the ending where we finally met the governor.
What lacks is the theming, as there is a lot of black walls and bland sets however, that’s not to say there isn’t theming in there, it just didn’t feel as strong and much more could be added to blend you into the immersion of going through a cell block.
What this maze does have is plenty of special effects. From the chainsaw finale to the rocking and dropping room. They have plenty of smoke and disorienting effects, which all combined with the lighting just works so well. For a new maze, it was very much enjoyed but at the same time, terrifying.
Cursed clowns
WOO – Enjoyment | WOO – actor performance | BOO – audio
Cursed Clowns is a clown attraction which brings the chaos of the circus to life as you make your way around. It has so much fun throughout to be had, which is also different to any clown maze we’ve been through. For example, half way round we entered into a mini funfair and compared to last year, they actually put us on the rides like the teacups and span us around whilst the clown laughed and Slender Man lurched over us. Simple but so much fun. The whole attraction had lots of fun elements like this.
The audio didn’t feel as strong or as memorable as other clown attractions here. You always hope for a fun, bouncy clown soundtrack inside that sticks in your mind but for us, Cursed Clowns didn’t do that and felt like the weakest feature for 2026.
The clowns and other inhabitants inside did incredibly too, keeping with the crazy, chaotic theme of clowns and managed to mock us and have fun throughout. They sent us down dead ends, trapped us, laughed at us and everything you would be terrified that clowns would do to you was found inside here.
The Nightmare
WOO – Screams | WOO – enjoyment | BOO – storytelling
The Nightmare is always a wild and unique maze, as it goes out so far from the starting location, travelling through different barns and other scenic stops. This was also a very enjoyable maze as you first start by walking into a circus tent and have some more sinister clowns start your journey. Then along the way, you go into different barns that have all sorts of surprises in, from rats to other dark mysterious figures, with some making it fun and others making it scary.
Unfortunately the weakest feature of this maze has to be the storytelling, with no story as such being given at any point. With it being such a large maze with many different themes and sets, we think they could add some more story that interlinks all the way through in a creative way in a future year however, we know it’s not as easy with the scale of the maze they have here.
The screams were at the top of their game in this maze. It is already creepy enough walking so far out and with the storm adding extra rustling on the tents and trees, it just added another layer to it. Then add in the cast inside, who did a great job in getting plenty of jump scares, being up close and just creepy.
Trinity Scares has done so well and we’ve enjoyed it so much for our second year visiting the event. They have managed to add new attractions and keep the same unique atmosphere and attractions they had last year, keeping what makes them unique to the market still on the forefront of their minds. Trinity Scares is an absolute gem and it should be worth noting for our visit, the storm was in full force but they managed to keep everything going safely, monitoring the situation all the way through and keeping guests moving to the shortest queues.
A huge thank you to the team for inviting us back once more to experience it all again. They did provide us with 2 complimentary tickets in return for our honest feedback, ratings and content.
There isn’t much time left in 2026 to see what they have created so you’ll have to be quick!
