Welcome Area, Boulevard, Tropino Kinderclub & Tropendorf

Upon arrival at the resort, you check in and are given the wristband which is used to access different areas and make purchases inside. There are ample lockers and changing areas. The Boulevard area contains several shops and other stores for any essentials you may have forgotten, or luxuries you may want. There’s also a large Kinderclub area for younger children featuring a play area and many other activities.

The Tropendorf area features the main restaurants and bar areas, you can get a large variety of food, or even have a buffet. The bars featured a good range of drinks including cocktails and were open until late. There is a balloon experience where you can pay to rise up into the tropical dome in a mini hot air balloon, it’s certainly a unique experience. A must do for us was the mini golf which was great fun and a decent quality course.

Sunset Camp & Regenwald Camp

Kolmarden is home to a really unique attraction which is the Safari Skyride. You can get onboard one of the gondolas and head into the sky to get a birds eye view of many animals across a huge landscape and get a view like no other. Gondola’s hold up to 8 people and can be prebooked on busy days but on non busy days like ours, you can walk right up and get your own one. Containing commentary in English within the gondola, you can learn all about giraffes, lions and many other animals. This is perfect on a sunny day and a little struggle on a raining day like ours, as they don’t offer shelter so we got very wet! We loved how many animals we still got to see regardless of the heavy rain and it allowed us some incredible landscape views of the wildlife park. 

The zoo is also home to other rides with 2 other coasters being available, such as the Candy Train, a pulse raising ride for all ages and Dolphin Express, a smaller ride but equally as thrilling for the family audience. There are a handful of smaller attractions on offer which can be enjoyed for more of the younger audience, but perfect family attractions which hits the target audience of a zoo. 

Sudsee

The Tropical Sea area is the largest water complex of the resort with the pool covering an area of 3000 square meters. There’s a 200m long sandy beach which runs around the edge of the pool and features many sunbeds and deckchairs to relax on. During our visit the main pool area was open throughout the night allowing overnight guests to have the opportunity to have a relaxing swim and keep cool from the tropical climate.

In this area you can also find the Jungle Splash tower which is primarily aimed at families, however with 8 waterslides and lots of water features there is thrilling fun to be had for everyone. The tower features multiple sections to explore with water cascading down from everywhere. The 8 waterslides can be found at different parts of the tower making it easy to explore and choose your slide. Our favourites had to be the bow slide, along with some of the larger ones twisting and turning along the route down.
