Are you ready to face the fear at Walsall Scare Maze for another year? An award winning Halloween attraction which has provided high quality scares & entertainment for 8 years! Each year, they create a new terrifying story and attraction which forms part of the main event, but they also are now home to one of the sickest and twisted solo experience, known as ENOLA.
We’ve followed & visited Walsall Scare Maze for some time now and they like to create a new or developing story each year for their main attraction. For 2024, the main scare house which lasts around 20-25 minutes is called The Haunting of Amelia Birchill. ENOLA returns from its debut last year, promising to be more disgusting and twisted than ever before, with a number of changes inside for those brave enough to do it again.
Walsall Scare Maze is just outside the main town of Walsall, being easily walkable from the town centre and has a number of hotels and car parks nearby. Hosted outside an LGBT+ friendly bar, the venues work in collaboration to provide a fun & spooky Halloween experience as a whole. You can find events near Halloween which interlink, with the club open each night the event is on, so it can be paired up for a night out or some drinks.
You can find several bars to get a tipple, a food stand to get plenty of grub and music inside and outside of the club to keep the vibes going. There is additional entertainment from shock chairs and brand new for 2024, you have the Boo Box, a way where you can scare and influence those inside the main attraction.
The event in 2024 was open on selected nights throughout October and the start of November, with timeslots available through the night. ENOLA tickets sold out pretty quickly and gained popular attraction worldwide with it going viral on TikTok!
Our First thoughts…
Walsall Scare Maze is always one of the top events every Halloween that we consider and look forward to attending. It never disappoints and always has something about it that makes it stand out, whether that is a new theme to the main maze, additions like ENOLA or new for this year, The Boo Box!
Our visit this year was towards the end of the run and on the final weekend of operations. Whilst we waited to enter the main maze, we took a look around, had a drink which is always affordable in Walsall, got some food and of course looked inside The Boo Box. This brand new concept allows you for a small upcharge to get tokens and step inside the box and play a small part in the scares inside the main maze. You get to see some TV screens and buttons, with each button creating a different scare at different moments inside. Simple yet so clever. We loved how effective some of the buttons were and had so much fun scaring lots of people, without it spoiling what was inside as we had yet to go in ourselves. We wouldn’t recommend pushing the final button if you want our opinion!
The event was lively and ENOLA was super popular, which was fantastic to see. We took a look around and seen some of the changes from when we went through it. Whilst we are not brave enough to do it once more, you can read a little more of what happened in our previous review by clicking here!
We also managed to catch up with some of the creative team behind Walsall Scare Maze, which as always are super friendly and passionate in always trying to improve on past year in creating something terrifying.

The Haunting of Amelia Birchill really was hauntingly perfect this Halloween, scoring top marks and near perfection in all of our criteria. With a strong storyline which starts from the moment you step inside, that follows from each scene and room, that flows with the screams and settings you get taken to, you feel immersed throughout. It had some really stand out themed sections, whilst some have been repurposed or restructured from previous years. The highlights in this would be the introduction room, using special effects to add a layer onto the storytelling and creating that tension of a horror story to set the base layer of fear. It had plenty of terrifying jump scares as you walked between the scenes, using a mixture of actors and special effects again. Even though we were petrified, you can still very much enjoy what is inside, with some elements of comedy and quirkiness to it which you don’t always see elsewhere. Each corridor was filled with different characters that enhanced the story further and provided the right level of terror to make you want to move forward quickly. With the flow of the attraction being at a good pace and the gap between groups being large enough that you don’t come across anybody else outside of your group, you are guaranteed to have personal scares inside, this being due to the group sizes and how many horrors are waiting for you within. The ending scene is always standout and even more so for 2024, with you coming face to face with Amelia herself, with some of the most effect heavy and clever scares implemented in this section alone. One of the best years we have done Walsall Scare Maze main attraction and with it coming back at Christmas with a festive overlay, it is only exciting to have the opportunity to revisit.
Ultimately, Walsall Scare Maze is one of the most hauntingly perfect attractions of the 2024 season. With it always containing high quality theming and superb storytelling techniques, featuring the right level of scares & enjoyment and effects, it is hard for them to go wrong with a maze this high calibre. As mentioned, it was our favourite season to date from all the years we have attended and with the bar being raised year upon year in the UK, this is some of the best we have seen to date. We can only recommend if you want one, long, terrifying attraction then to take on The Haunting of Amelia Birchill. Whilst we are not sure it will be changed for 2025, you can still have one last change to experience the festive version during Christmas on selected nights this December.
A huge thank you to the team for inviting us along to experience Walsall Scare Maze and all their offerings.
