THE OVERALL EVENT…

WOO – ENTERTAINMENT | WOO – EVENT INFO | BOO – OPERATIONS

FEAR Scream Park is an event we look forward to every year and if you’ve ever been before then you’d know why. Each year they seem to level up, with the last few years seeing new additions come through and be some groundbreaking attractions. New for 2026, we get to look forward to The Autopsy, a brand new immersive show that replaces The Exorcism and also Malefica goes into darkness as an updated, darker attraction. There is also updates all across the scream park which is always exciting to see.

Starting off with the entertainment which starts the night off. The opening scaremony takes place in the circus tent where the witching hour begins. The cast comes out with a great dance number which has a loud, intense track backing them as they summon the start of the night. Across Stidham Village and The Republic of England areas, both have updated shows and a full night of entertainment. We had to be on the bull to catch everything they had to offer, with there being a total of 18 performances throughout each night across 8 different shows. All of it was spectacular and a level up to what we saw from last year where they introduced the entertainment boost.

As with any scream park, operations is a hard one to master as the park becomes busier and you can’t control where guests will go, queues do form. FEAR do suffer with some long queue lines that do reach over 60 minutes at points across the season. We know behind the scenes that they are working on solutions to improve guest experience, such as the improved entertainment lineup however, it is their weakest element.

A highlight to the park has to be their event info, as they have everything signposted and easily accessible. They have a very up to date website with clear information from parking, different ticket types and dates. Whilst on site, queue lines are very obvious, queue times which are shown on the main screen and now on the brand new website page, which also provides show times and a map too. This is the first year FEAR have brought this new website to life and it was very helpful.

VITA NOVA

WOO – LIGHTING & SFX | WOO – AUDIO | BOO – Screams

Vita Nova is where we started our night and this maze splits your group at the very beginning as you’re locked up for your clinical trial. What was very noticeable has to be the audio element, with a growing soundtrack in the background along with announcements as you are going through the different zones. It adds to the story and continues that level of immersion they strive for. Although you are separate from your group and go around near enough alone, the scares just didn’t have the same impact as previous years. It was still scary, just not as much as before but that may be due to us going round it so many times now over the years. The lighting is disorienting, with strobes and blinding sections and the effects such as smoke filled rooms, leg ticklers, tunnels and the separation chambers all come together as a maze created well.

THE CORE

WOO – ACTOR PERFORMANCE | WOO – SCREAMS | BOO – AUDIO

The Core is another unique maze as you get given a pair of waders and prepare to enter the sewers where the rebels have taken home to. The scares were definitely ramped up inside here and if it wasn’t from the creatures inside, getting soaked as they moved around did the trick. They did manage to get us in the dry also, with them being able to hide and come out of everywhere we didn’t seem to be looking. The audio was noticeable however, it didn’t add as much impact across the maze as the rest of its elements, therefore just feeling naturally not as good. However, a true shout-out to the creatures hiding in the water and prepared to still bring the chaotic energy. They really moved about and provided top level scares. One of the strongest teams we’ve seen inside since opening.

X4

WOO – Actor Performance | WOO – SCREAMS | BOO – CONCEPT

X4 returns as you step into the facility and face the wrath of those inside who have forced it to close down. Home to probably the most aggressive lift scene in the UK, the scares come thick and fast, as they are hidden in the dark as they go full on with the terror. The intensity seems to just grow in here the further you enter and this year, the final few scenes genuinely were petrifying. The concept of X4 has seemed to have lost its novelty over the years, as when it first opened it was very secretive and now, it’s very much known. Whilst it is the weakest feature, they do have some unique elements to it with it linking to the overall themed area it’s based in. With that all said, the inhabitants inside X4 gave it everything on our night. This team is usually known for going berserk in previous years and it seems they once again stepped up and delivered once again. They truly made sure every member of the group got scared, with both the front and back getting full scares all the way round.

SEEDS OF EVIL

WOO – THEMING | WOO – Enjoyment | BOO – ACTOR UTILISATION

Seeds of Evil was brand new for last year and with another year of time, they have managed to make many noticeable changes throughout. The theming in this maze has been and still is standout. It looks beautiful and still creates that horror backdrop. We really love all of the different scenes, from stepping into the house, to stepping through to the brand new immersive bar hidden at the exit with unique drinks. The actors didn’t feel utilised as much as they could have, with some areas having lots and others having none on our few goes round. We just wanted it to be a little more consistent and improve but with the versatile UK scare scene, we understand each run can be different. Seeds of Evil is very much a maze to enjoy, from the theme, to the scares, to the comedy elements. It just comes together well as an overall package and it is definitely a highlight to the FEAR Scream Park lineup.

MALEFICA: INTO DARKNESS

WOO – ACTOR PERFORMANCE | WOO – Screams | BOO – ACTOR UTILISATION

Malefica has transformed its church setting by turning off the power and the nuns now lurk in the dark. To guide your way is a terror torch created by Genius Creations. They flicker and pulsate as you make your way through and limit your sight as this maze is now terrifyingly dark. This meant the scares were even more powerful and tormenting, as each nun really gave us a good scare. Again, the actors didn’t feel as best utilised compared to previous years. It just felt that they stuck to small areas and they weren’t as many as we’re used to seeing. However, each nun really did give it everything from start to finish. They managed to be chaotic and as terrifying as all nun characters should be, playing their role to perfection and keeping our fear of nuns very much alive!

STIDHAM VILLAGE

WOO – COSTUME & MAKEUP | WOO – AUDIO | BOO – SCREAMS

Stidham Village is one half of the FEAR Scream Park where the village comes alive with Malefica, Seeds of Evil and The Autopsy being hosted in this area. Also, you have a number of shows such as Titans of Terror and Blood Moon show, which all have some of the best audio tracks this Halloween. The audio across the whole area and the whole atmosphere it brought was just electric. Obviously as a whole area it isn’t as scary, but more enjoyable and one to be enjoyed and admired. That’s not to be said that Trixxie and her troupe of clowns won’t sneak up and photo bomb you or get a little fright out of you. Each of the characters are either legacy characters from FEAR or are based on the village. This year we saw even more new characters, one being the news agent character with the newspaper which they hand out, plus news reporters who are filming the ongoings in the village. They all stand out and it’s so different and shows you how to bring a fantasy village to life.

THE REPUBLIC OF ENGLAND

WOO – ACTOR PERFORMANCE | WOO – AUDIO | BOO – SCREAMS

Republic of England is very different to Stidham Village, with it being two forces colliding. You have the twisted doctors and the New World Order roaming around trying to get you to conform to their way, whilst the Rebels are trying to find out the truth and break out. The story does develop throughout the night, with some of the Rebels conforming and some of the New World Order not being fully compliant, which is an interesting take. For this to happen, the actors have to develop throughout the night and be very creative in their performances. They all played their stories well, making sure you were involved and in-between all the shows, really caused some chaos. Similar to the village, the screams aren’t as strong as the mazes as it is an open zone but, there is a much stronger chance of getting more frights in here. The audio was insane once again in here, with the shows having lots of different ranges to appeal to all audiences. It felt more dance and electronic compared to previous years. The whole area comes to life with it and it did feel like there was constant shows and music in the area and we love to see that. Everything felt more grand and bigger and better.

BRAVE IT ALONE: X4

WOO – ACTOR PERFORMANCE | WOO – SCREAMS | BOO – AUDIO

Brave it Alone is a concept that comes from last year and they’ve continued it on to 2026. This allows you at the end of the night to go through one of the mazes completely alone, but with the full cast ready to go full out. Some of the mazes provide a bit more of a storyline and sometimes a special activity but regardless, they are a unique opportunity to have a more intense experience. Last year we tried Malefica and it was terrifying but lots of fun. This year, we took on X4 following the teams recommendation.

The screams were off the chart in this maze. As much as we did this as a duo (due to Dean being too scared to actually do it solo), they managed to take it up to the next level, which was hard to do. Doing the lift scene with two of us and two actors was wild. It was actually more disorientating alone as we did the maze in reverse which gave it a whole different format. The cast kept moving around the scenes and seeing them run in the shadows just added to the fear. Obviously the audio hasn’t changed and was still the weakest element in brave it alone as there wasn’t anything added. Again, the cast have done insane to achieve what they have, especially at the end of the night when they’ve already spent hours screaming at all the other guests. Bravo!

THE AUTOPSY

WOO – STORYTELLING | WOO – AUDIO | BOO – COSTUME & MAKEUP

Autopsy is the brand new immersive experience which has replaced The Exorcism. This takes place in the same world and shortly after the events of that previous show, it goes more into the dark storyline they have created. This is a standalone show, so it doesn’t need any previous knowledge before attending but it’s also helpful for those who have. The story is the biggest part for Autopsy, as a small cast bring you inside as witnesses to watch the Autopsy of Evelynn Grace. It had tense moments and layers of scares blended with the story. We don’t want to spoil it too much as it’s brand new and it’s best experienced in person.

The costume and makeup wasn’t anything out of this world. It fitted the hospital and morgue type setting and it was effective however, there wasn’t anything original or too in detail from what we noticed.

The audio also plays such a huge part in this experience. Not only do they have backing noises they have sound effects in different places which play at the key moments. It added the right tension and that just built to the big impact points where the audio was noticeable. Overall, a fantastic addition and perfect next step in the story they have created.

FEAR Scream Park have just found another gear for 2026 and levels up once more for this Halloween season. Not only are the mazes and the actors incredible, the shows have definitely had a huge upgrade. From them introducing a bigger entertainment lineup last year, they have genuinely only perfected this, with more impactful audio, production and show standards. With how much they have going for them, quality and perfection is what they seem to strive for and what comes across in all corners of the event.

A huge thank you to the team for inviting us towards the end of their season. They did provide us some complimentary fast track tickets and Autopsy tickets in return for our honest feedback and content. We really appreciate them working with us towards the end of their run.

Whilst 2026 season has now come to an end, you’ll have to keep an eye out now for 2027 to see what they have created!
