Welcome to one of London’s most unusual attractions as this is the capitals first virtual reality arcade! Located across multiple venues in London, DNA VR offer a range of different virtual reality experiences that can take you and your crew on one of the best virtual journeys. 

Virtual Reality has come a long way in recent years and whilst you can now play it at home, playing it in a venue gives you that space and chance to also play with friends all in the same room. 

DNA VR is located in Camden, Hammersmith & Battersea Power Station with each venue offering a range of different games and type of experiences, to make it fun for all sorts of players. We decided to visit the Battersea Power Station venue and review the premium free roaming experience. 

So onto our Premium Free Roaming experience. We were taken upstairs in the Battersea Power Station venue where the larger room is located. We met with our VR expert who was going to watch over us. He explained what was going to happen, allowed us to select a game (as we hadn’t prior to arrival) and got us setup for our game. We selected Pirates Plague, which is one of the more difficult escape room styles game that crossed combat and puzzles in the pirate world. 

“Cursed and transformed into fish people, players must race to an island while fending off an attack, solve puzzles in an ancient temple, and break the curse before they lose their human forms forever!”

The experience in the VR world felt very immersive, with great graphics and gameplay mechanics. Being able to move freely without wires felt so unusual but really adds another layer in the virtual world. There is moments where you might go out of the boundary zone or the technology hits a glitch, but the VR expert can assist with any of the issues. Thankfully they don’t ruin the experience but only temporarily causes a small inconvenience. The puzzles were challenging and everything wasn’t just handed to you, so it really did give you a sense of achievement in completing it. 

We also got to take on a short horror add on, being an upcharge experience. This took us into a horror world which spooky things happened around us. We could interact a little bit and walk around, although we really didn’t want to! With some very clever jump scares and playing on some phobias, it made each one of our group jump at some point!

Overall, DNA VR offer an amazing package of VR experiences that can cater for all types of gamers. Date nights, corporate functions, a birthday party, it would work so well for. The time flew by and we were left super impressed at how the experience came together!
