Christmas Nights at Avon Valley 2022 Review

Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park is a family run park located between Bristol and Bath running popular events including the award winning FEAR Scream Park. In 2021 the park introduced a brand new Christmas event including a specially designed light trail, ice skating rink and even a fairground which was perfect for all the family to get in the festive spirit.

The event has returned and is better than ever for 2022. With an extended light trail, more complete fairground and a real-ice skating rink, there really is something for everyone. During the day, the fairground, ice skating rink and adventure park are open with a range of festive experiences to enjoy.  After dark the grounds come alive with bright lights from the fairground, cool, fun vibes over the ice skating rink and the light trail is open for visitors to experience.

Christmas Nights at Avon Valley Review

The event is free to enter meaning you can soak up the atmosphere of the pay-per-ride fairground,  purchase some of the Christmas food or spectate the ice skating. The fairground has a variety of rides from carousels for small children to fun-for-all waltzers and thrilling, swinging chairs.

Festive outdoor skating is available to book with 45 minute sessions running every hour during opening times. The 500 square metre real ice rink is lit up with coloured lights and music fills the air as a fun atmosphere is created for all skaters and spectators. Skate hire is included within the ticket price and skating aids can also be hired on a first come, first serve basis. A bar area is located towards the entrance of the skating rink for those who wish to enjoy a hot drink or something stronger to keep warm!

The Christmas Nights light trail consists of a one way continuous path around the adventure park in the evening after hours. Tickets are sold on a time slot basis to spread out the arrival of visitors. The trail takes around 1-1.5 hours to complete, and can be taken at your own pace. It features a wide variety of lighting displays throughout utilising existing parts of the park and also special built structures.

The light trail is great for all the family and features other extra experiences including Dinosaur Valley, The Elf Express, an animal petting area and a unique Christmas tree walk through; you can even meet The Grinch! The event overall was great fun, visually impressive and in our opinion, excellent value for money.
