Enter the battlefield in the World’s First battle bar. Boom Battle Bar is taking over the UK scene with over 25 locations currently open, scattered in all corners of the kingdom. The venue hosts a number of thrilling & fun activities from the Crazier Golf, to Augmented Reality Axe Throwing, so there is always something exciting going on across this battle bar.
With more and more venues still being created, one of the latest that have just opened up is London’s Oxford Street. Sharing the space with Escape Hunt, this battleground has plenty to offer from Crazier Golf, Beer Pong, Augmented Reality Axe Throwing & Darts, Karaoke and Shuffleboards!
Opening in November 2022, we were excited to check out what they had to offer…
Finding the Oxford Street Battle Bar was very easy. Being located on Oxford Street, it was a very well known location. It’s only a short walk from Tottenham Court Road, and across the road from the Elizabeth line tube entrance.
For those who have never been to a Boom Battle Bar, you can purchase to play any of the games in advance online, or if they have any slots then you can do so on the day of your visit. Each game has its own separate costs and all are best played with mates or dates.
We were kindly invited by the Boom Battle Bar team to check out the Crazier Golf on our first ever visit in early December! We will share our thoughts as we return to all of the thrilling activities they have to offer, so keep checking back to see more on this venue!
Crazier Golf
Crazier Golf is Boom Battle Bars version of crazy golf, just more crazy than your usual, obviously! Priced at £9 per person, you will see some of the craziest 9 holes, which range at each location too. From catapults, loops and conveyers, you won’t know what to expect from hole to hole.
The course takes on average around 45 minutes with your average team of 4, so do note if you go with more or less, or depending on how busy the course can be that time can change accordingly.
You’ll find the course located at the back of the venue, meaning you can grab a beverage on the way from either the main bar or from the check in desk at minigolf. They even have a bottle bar with a few options there too!
Now to our favourite holes and thoughts!
With Crazier Golf, no 2 holes are the same or played the same. For example, they had a baseball themed hole where instead of your club, you would need to put this down and take a swing using the bat for your first shot. You would need to give it that perfect whack to get a hole in 1 however!
You also had a 4 player maze run hole, which again you would need to put your clubs down for. Each player would drop the ball into the start of the maze and use the wheel to guide the ball across a rat run styled course to the end. Depending on your position was how many shots you took, so coming first was vital!
Without spoiling them all, our last favourite would be the foosball hole. The player shooting would have to start by trying to score a golf on a classic football table, however, the other players watching could control the board and try and kick your ball away from the goal to keep you further from the hole. Super interactive and fun!
Overall, Boom Battle Bar in London’s Oxford Street is a superb location to have fun with family & friends whilst out in London. If you just fancy some drinks and watch the chaos, or participate in your own battles, its always a fun time. With food, drink, music and of course the games, you can have hours of entertainment here and is great for an afternoon of thrills, or an evening out with a few drinks!
