Christmas Shows

Parc Asterix are fantastic at shows and this does not slack during the Christmas period either. Throughout the day, they have plenty of festive shows on. You have the Christmas show on ice, where you meet Father Christmas and the toys but someone is trying to sabotage Christmas! This is a fun show in the stunt arena which has amazing ice skaters dancing in fun costume, crazy stunts throughout and a simple narrative to follow even if you don’t speak French. You also have the circus show which has a number of acts from trapeze artists through to high flying acrobats. With a bit of comedy in the form of mime and plenty of big tricks, this show was a huge favourite and filled out instantly. 

As the night starts to set, you can for the first time experience this winter the Christmas parade! A number of the parade floats have had a festive makeover and you can meet Asterix, Obelix and some other of the characters as they bop along the park with a cheery song. We enjoyed seeing the parade earlier in the summer and the winter one is not to be missed either. 

Then to end the day, you have the marvelous firework show. With the view over the lake and the Goudrix coaster, you can watch the magical display with music & lights to end your day on a high. We loved the short display to end our day, who doesn’t love a firework ending?

Other CHristmas Activities

Outside of all the shows, you had plenty of other extra Christmas activities across the park to explore. Starting with a new addition, you had Les Jardins merveilleux du Père Noël, which translates to Santa’s Wonderful Gardens! Taking over the queue line for the rapids attraction which is closed during the winter, they have added a tonne of lights throughout the walk. With a short 5 minute wait, we managed to get to explore the trail which was pretty lengthy and had lots of fun, quirky lights to take selfies with. As a new addition, it was very popular and a great free light trail compared to other attractions which are upcharge usually! 

You can also explore The Skiing Village, which is a seasonal indoor venue which they add an ice skating rink, sliding trails and all of this is for free. We managed to check it out and it looks very festive inside and very popular amongst the guests who wished to ice skate or go down the little slope on a tyre, which at other venues again would usually be an upcharge. 

Outside of this location, they have a small Christmas market which had festive food & drink on offer. This was very popular and quite crowded during the peak part of the day. We think due to the popularity of the event, they could expand the area and we are sure to see adjustments of this very popular market.
