Advertised as one of the best immersive cocktail experiences you can visit, Alcotraz is a unique adventure that places you in the middle of the story. Created by the team from Inventive Productions, Alcotraz is the signature experience across multiple locations in the UK that follow the legend of a notorious bootlegger and criminal, Cassidy. The company also runs Moonshine Saloon which is a cowboy / Western prequel, as well as a cocktail delivery experience called Cassidy’s.

With Alcotraz running in Brighton, Liverpool, Manchester and London, it’s taken inspiration from Hollywood Film and TV that have brought to life the infamous prison stories of one of most talked about prisons in history. 

The experience begins outside the venue with you checking in and getting a run down of the prison rules. From here you check in with a prison guard who will help you smuggle in your alcohol. We hid ours in a pillow with the story that it was for emotional support and comfort. From here, you meet with the warden who is running the prison, who introduces himself to you and gets you into your orange jumpsuit! You then get taken to your cell where most of the experience is then hosted from. Each cell has about 6 seats, some great prison theming and you get accustomed to the other inmates & guards. 

Whilst we won’t go fully in depth about what happens during your experience, as it needs to be experienced in person. Alcotraz has a story running in the background as you are being served some seriously delicious cocktails. One of the cocktail connoisseurs introduces themselves to you to see how you want them to be. We went with a fruity vibe, which we loved. You get 4 cocktails made for you during your time which lasts approximately just under 2 hours. Each one was so different to the last and we all enjoyed every single cocktail made. They were delivered in a themed prisonesque mug and were delivered ice cold and perfectly timed.
