The drop tower is manufactured by SBF Visa, it stands at 25m tall and seats 16 people per ride. The physical ride isn’t particularly thrilling due to the height and drop sequences. Add in the interaction with the themeing and effects it becomes a lot of fun – this is perfect for the family target market, but can definitely be appreciated by everyone on and off ride (just like Rameses Revenge!). The effects on the ride include mist, lighting and smoke.

The music that accompanies the ride was composed by Nick Hutson, who has produced soundtracks for other attractions at the park and elsewhere around the UK. We really enjoyed the soundtrack, and really built upon the high level of themeing and effects creating the full package for the experience. The ambient background music, ride experience soundtrack and chanting voiceovers fit perfectly.

The ride experience starts in the batching area where you are split into two sides of 8 ready to board. The staff member in a croc drop themed costume will likely add their own touch to the intro speech which informs you where to sit once inside the ride station. When the ride is ready, mist fills the archway and the doors open to reveal the themed ride station where you board the ride with the seats numbered on the floor to avoid confusion. An ambient soundtrack builds the atmosphere before you’re sent on your way, mist, smoke and lighting fill the area before you rise up and out of Sobek’s jaws. The ride does a variety of movement rotating around at different heights to give everyone a great view of the park and surrounding area, it also includes several drop sequences with full, half and third height drops. The end of the experience is the best, as you lower back down into a completely smoke filled room, with flashing lights and pumping music. The ride spins quickly around creating a great bit of disorientation to end the experience parked back into the place you boarded. You then exit out double doors the opposite side to entering and go via a small shop next to the queue entrance.
