The team at The Crystal Maze Live Experience have launched Dome from Home, an online only experience to save you from yet another zoom quiz. The Crystal Maze Live Experience is usually hosted in London & Manchester and recreates the well known gameshow with you being the contestants. Whilst that isn’t possible, the maze masters have moved online to host a unique evening you won’t forget.
Dome from Home is a 90 minute virtual team experience which is perfect for groups of 8 or more. Hosting sessions daily and through multiple times from the afternoon to evening, they are highly flexible in getting you booked in. Hosted by an experienced maze master, all who have a different take on being a host.
In total, there are 16 virtual games you’ll experience and a different take on the all important crystal dome.
The experience takes you through the 4 well known zones that are replicated from the live experience. All the games can be played entirely through Zoom and all you need is a pen & paper, good stable internet and your team.
Whilst the experience is tailored towards corporate online team building, do not be discouraged to get in touch with them for a family & friend group.
Our experience was hosted on a Thursday evening at 8pm and we only had a team of 4. We were joined by our host, who is known as Dave Davis Davidson and played an elaborate game show host. To slim down the time of learning names and as our host said so, we were all called Dave for the evening.
After a short introduction on how the virtual experience would work, our evening began which consisted of many similarities to the live version, which was perfect to see! We virtually ran to each of the different zones and played 4 games in each of these zones. Consisting of physical, skill, mystery and mental, each game was different to the last and offered 90 minutes of pure entertainment. Some games were solo play however, many games also required team participation to complete the task.
Along our way, we collected crystals if we completed the game and keeping to the show & live experience, crystals = 5 seconds of time in the all important dome. We managed to collect 11 crystals during our evening which gave us 55 seconds in the dome.
Whilst you can’t be collecting gold and silver tickets in a dome full of wind from home, they have tailored this last part perfectly for a remote experience. We won’t be spoiling how this ends and you’ll have to play to find out.
We loved Dome from Home for many different reasons. The fact there were 16 virtual games and they kept these within the same categories and theme as the real-life version, whilst remaining playable over video call. The Maze Master / live host really makes the experience and ours did exactly that by being funny, creative, throwing quirky references and being fully involved throughout the evening. The list is endless of how perfect this evening turned out being and quickly became one of our favourite online experiences we’ve played in the 12 months.
Overall, Dome from Home by The Crystal Maze Live Experience is the best virtual live hosted experience available. The Maze Master who hosts the experience keeps to the same standard as the live experience and this can make or break any experience. They pulled this of flawlessly throughout our evening. Additionally, 16 unique games which were all enjoyable if you were playing or viewing the other player trying to complete the task. This all came to a price of £20 per person and this is a fantastic rate for what is being offered as a complete package. This beats a zoom quiz anyway of the week!
