For anybody who does not know about Dr. Frights, it’s located near Northampton and is easily found literally just off the motorway. Two ticket options are available, with the standard ticket option providing 1x entry through the standard queue line. Or you can pay a little extra for 1x fastrack through each of the 4 mazes. Dr. Frights does have queues most nights for each of the mazes; however, you are pretty much guaranteed to go in your own group instead of with others, which is pretty neat and not seen at any other event. 

Once you’ve done all the mazes, you are allowed to enter the Horror Bar to get a tipple of your choice at reasonable prices! Beers, wine, soft drinks and even cocktails are for sale. Across the indoor marquee event, you can get some food from a burger and hot dog van, some sweet treats at the donut shack or even some merchandise including hot sauce, t-shirts or stickers!

Monsters and Madmen

“Reclusive millionaire Bob Bixby has spent years building up a terrifying collection of live exhibits for his ‘Monsters & Madmen’ museum. Prepare to come face to face with the worlds most feared killers, creatures and demons that lurk around every corner!”

Monsters and Madmen was a really great maze and made us realise you don’t need the biggest budget to create a scary maze. It had very similar vibes to a previous attraction at Dr Frights, with many scenes including well known villains from books and films. As you can see by our ratings, we were pretty terrified throughout with meeting Scream, Freddy Krueger and even some aliens! Nothing was out of the question and this was one of the longest mazes of the night, so it made it that touch more nerve wrecking for us. Scares happened from both sides and even above, so nowhere was safe, so you can imagine we moved swiftly through the many different scenes to hopefully find the exit. Overall, a real strong attraction that we are sure many guests would love! 

Killer Clowns Of the Caribbean

“Batten down the hatches! The notorious killer clowns have commandeered a popular pirate themed attraction, transforming it into the perfect venue for their latest killing contest! Will you survive to tell the tale? Or will you end up another digit on the scoreboard?” 

Killer Clowns has been one of the most stand out attractions year upon year. With themes such as In a spaceship & in Ibiza, it has always been a fan favourite to returning guests. Last year, it was one of our favourite mazes overall, and we were interested to see how it would stand in 2022. 

The opening few scenes really sold that it would be a favourite again, with the introduction being spoken to you by a skeleton and parrot before entering the pirate village which was obviously over ran by clowns! The rooms were filled with actors and they got us time and time again. One of our favourite scenes had to be the laser room, where ghost clown / pirates got us and we couldn’t see if they were coming or going! Another note worthy feature is the audio, playing many party anthems on the pirate ship attraction, with audio updates of which clowns had the highest kill score, so clever! Overall, still one of the highest rated mazes we have experienced and will be a maze we will continue talking about for a while.
