A true haven of peace, Ecolodgee is one of the latest accommodation offerings right on Futuroscope’s doorstep. Inspired by nature, this eco-responsible resort offers a luxury lodge experience, allowing you to become one with your peaceful surroundings. As darkness falls, you can enjoy the stars, knowing you are just a short walk from the park’s main attractions in the morning.
Ecolodgee is located at the Futuroscope resort in Poitiers, France, and is just one of several fantastic options for an overnight stay. The theme park is renowned for being home to some of the most unique rides in the world, and with the recent opening of its brand-new waterpark, there’s even more reason to visit and stay overnight.

Beyond Ecolodgee, the resort offers two other distinct hotels. The Futuroscope Hotel is a 1-star, no-frills option that provides great value for families looking for a basic stay. Then there’s the Station Cosmos Hotel, a 4-star destination that offers a heavily immersive, galactic-themed space station experience. The resort’s hotel offerings are incredibly diverse, with the Futuroscope Hotel focusing on value, Station Cosmos on immersive theming, and Ecolodgee on providing a nature-inspired, relaxing escape.
Ecolodgee offers two distinct types of accommodations. The more basic of the two, the Lodge Initial, is a lodge that can sleep up to four guests, featuring a double bed and two single beds. It provides a modern bathroom and a private patio that opens up to the surrounding nature and a serene lake. The other option, the Lodge Signature, offers a few additional comforts, including stylish egg chairs on the patio and a ceiling fan.
The core of the Ecolodgee experience is its commitment to eco-friendly living, which is why you won’t find air conditioning or televisions in any of the lodges. As a testament to this philosophy, the resort states: “Hôtel Ecolodgee is committed to reducing its ecological footprint by increasing renewable energy sources, reducing and reclaiming waste, eco-friendly construction and maintenance practices, raising awareness among guests and staff, and safeguarding the local and bio-economies.”
After booking online, you can check in from 4 PM at the reception, which has its own dedicated car park. During check-in, a team member allocates your lodge, provides a map, and asks you to select your breakfast options. This is because breakfast is delivered to your lodge at a set time the following morning—a thoughtful touch that adds to the overnight experience. The lobby also features a bar that stays open late, restrooms, and a small seating area both indoors and out, as well as a selection of merchandise.
We were given a map and took a short walk from reception to our Lodge Initial, guided by clear signposts. Along the way, we passed many beautiful spots and noted that many of the lodges faced out onto a peaceful lake or pond area. This provided a very different and serene atmosphere compared to the theme park, which was just a few minutes’ walk away.
Upon stepping inside, we saw the two single beds immediately to our left, with the bathroom in the middle. At the far end was the double bed area, which led out to a small balcony. The lodge also included a table and chairs, along with a fan, which was a welcome addition during the warm climate of our visit. The entire space looked very clean, new, and modern, yet still managed to feel cozy—perfect for a nature-based retreat. It was great to see this kind of lodging offered as an alternative to a traditional hotel, providing a calm and peaceful atmosphere just minutes from the theme park and waterpark.
Our overnight stay was very comfortable, and we had no issues with heat or noise, which made for a fantastic, restful night’s sleep. When we woke up in the morning, we saw that our breakfast had been delivered on time. It arrived in a wicker basket and was packaged using paper, cardboard, and glass bottles, perfectly aligning with the hotel’s eco-friendly ethos. Our breakfast included ham and cheese sandwiches, hot chocolate, fruit juice, fruit, and more. It was a lovely way to enjoy a quiet morning in the lodge before heading off for our second day at Futuroscope.
Checking out was simple; we just handed the key back to reception the next morning before the 10 AM deadline, which is standard for hotels across Europe. A key tip for your stay: the hotel and park staff do speak English. While their fluency may not be perfect, we had no issues, as we also made the effort to bridge the language barrier. Although Ecolodgee does not have its own dinner restaurant, you can easily find food inside the theme park or eat at Space Loop, which is conveniently located next door at the Station Cosmos Hotel. It’s also worth noting that if your visit falls on a day when the park is closed, the hotel may not be an option, but it does always open the night before the theme park opens to accommodate overnight guests.
The cost of a stay at Ecolodgee depends on the lodge option you book and the time of year. Stays start from 162 euros per person, and this package includes a two-day ticket to Futuroscope, a night in the hotel, the evening show, and breakfast. This is excellent value, making an overnight stay especially worthwhile if you are not a local or a French resident.
A huge thank you to the team at Futuroscope for working with us on our first visit to the resort. They provided us with a complimentary stay in a lodge and tickets to the park and Aquascope in return for our honest review and content.
