Fire Show & Entertainment

Fear at Avon Valley has always been known to have one of the best fire shows in the UK when it comes to Halloween. This year is no different as it comes with a brand new fire show, with better graphics, more energy and plenty of pyro! The stage comes with a new lighting package, some new signage and a slightly different setup along with the usual tower of fire surrounding the area. Last year we saw a magic show and some dancers outside the main show however, this was lost this year. The main fire show went ahead every hour and we saw Trixie & Chunk take centre stage as the graphics went through each maze in the Titan of Terrors show. The show highlights the main characters in each of the attractions and they fight it out to decide who is the winner. Some of the shows were joined by other roaming characters, which was nice to see more people up on the stage providing top quality entertainment.  It also seemed there was a special resistance show that was performed about an hour before the end of the event as an extra performance, however we did not get to see this or see any advertisement regarding this. Maybe a secret show to keep an eye on?

House of Clowns

House of Clowns has gone through many different versions at FEAR. This year the most noticeable change was the introduction of the maze which was a sea of lasers before entering some other visually impressive scenes. Through the multiple times we went through, we had some very big scares by the actors and they really pushed every scream out of you, some even getting multiple scares out of us in the same scene which we were surprised about. We felt the maze had more strobes than before making it more disorienting than we ever remember it being, which was interesting to see this year. Overall, it was a strong year for House of Clowns and brought the quality up to the rest of the attractions at the event.

Malefica

Malefica was a stand out attraction when it opened last year and was one of our top rated, scariest mazes we encountered amongst many other events. 2022 is no different as it still stands out as one of the best attractions at the event and scariest. We feel this year the actors weren’t as scary and there were a few less than we believe from before. With this said, the ones we came across did wreck havoc and the nun and demonic creatures were still possessed as before. The theming is still world class and with some very clever sections inside the maze, you will be screaming non stop through the dark corridors of the church. 

The Exorcism

The Exorcism is a brand new immersive experience never seen at FEAR at Avon Valley before. Using different techniques than the scare mazes to create a spine chilling show that you become a part of. Based on the story of Evelyn Grace, as you try to save the soul of her from the evil within. This is an upcharge attraction at £10 per person however, shows are limited to only 12 guests each. The experience lasts around 15 minutes and we were very interested to see how this experience compared, as others have tried and failed with similar events in the past years. The experience was actually incredibly haunting and got our heart racing from the very beginning. Sitting around a bed in a circle where you had to sit on a stool as you became part of the story of trying to save Evelyn Grace. With multiple different effects used and the strong use of story from start to finish, The Exorcism actually was a worthwhile experience and a credit to the lineup. The small groups, the eerie atmosphere and the telling of the story really merge together to create this experience, with the setting and the actors pushing every moment to feel realistic. Overall, a must do experience for those who love a petrifying story and love immersive productions. We do note, time slots must be booked and they do sell out very quickly, we did experience an hours delay to our booking but the scream park was considerate and allowed us to visit all the mazes prior to joining the queue.
