Electric Gamebox opens up a new location at Gravity Wandsworth. An immersive group gaming experience which is a little different to your average experience.
Electric Gamebox is a standalone company which is an immersive, digital adventures that can be played with friends & family, or even as a team building exercise. With multiple 60 minute games to play from, you get to step into a gamebox and enter a fully private, interactive digital room featuring projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking and surround sound to enjoy this hyper immersive adventure.
Electric Gamebox has franchised into Gravity Wandsworth and offers all of their games and experiences. Whether you’re being graded by aliens, searching for rare Martian minerals or saving the queen’s corgis, Electric Gamebox will keep you entertained together. Each experience hosts a number of minigames within a virtual world. Each experience is different to the next and the loose stories within each relate to the theme you pick.
The experience for one of the 60 minute adventures costs as little as £19 per person, with prices changing depending if peak or off peak, plus the amount of players. Up to 6 guests can play in a gamebox per adventure.
We got to try out the Alien Aptitude Test: London ’84 adventure. “It’s 1984, the aliens have taken over Britain, and they’re moving on to the next step of their invasion; grading the humans to see who is worth keeping around. Can you survive the scrutiny of these extra-terrestrials as they grade your group from E- to A+? Your team’s teamwork, coordination, memory, and agility will all be tested as you blast blocks, dodge danger, keep up with the cards, and collect all the coins. Do you reckon your team’s skills are up to the challenge…?”
With the task of impressing the aliens and being graded, the challenge was on as we tackled this adventure as a duo. We got to experience 4 mini games, with them lasting around 12 minutes each. Whilst the games were quite easy to pick up, they got increasingly more difficult as the time went on. The experience came with some great nostalgic music, which we changed the settings and blasted out of our private gamebox.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the time went super quick. We managed to smash a great end grade of A- and got the top score and grade of the day! We found the games a little repetitive for just two players however, with 4 or more players, we can see how it would work out much better and you can have more breaks. It’s also a nice workout as it’s a physical game being tracked. All done wearing a light head visor and that’s it! Technology at its finest right here with a completely unique experience.
With other experiences outside Alien Aptitude, each experience will be different to the next which is great to see. It gives it replay-ability and enjoyment for more than one visit. We highly recommend you check out Electric Gamebox, whether it’s at Gravity Wandsworth or any of the other locations that can be found!
