Flight of the Sky Lion

The exterior of the ride from the area is very impressive with the huge sky lion model standing proudly out the front of the themed façade. The queue line is very basic however there are some themeing elements and announcements to keep you occupied. The batching area has 3 floors to the flying theatre, the top and bottom floors have two rows of seats whilst the middle floor has three. You are pre-batched and allocated a section and a number, you are then sent through in the relevant groups to the pre show room, be prepared to walk up steps if you’re in the middle or top. The pre show room is reasonably themed, with a nice lighting package, most importantly it includes the numbers on the floor which indicate your seat number on the attraction. The pre show video is light-hearted fun and introduces you to Bits and Bobs, a colourful character who demonstrates the attraction and how to use it, it also covers the nature of the attraction which can frighten younger children (but remember all characters in Mythica are created from a kid’s imagination).

Flying theatres are a real show stopper, putting you right in the middle of the scenery, or action, depending on the nature of the attraction. Flight of the Sky Lion is unlike most other flying theatre attractions which uses real life or realistic scenes across the world, instead this takes you into the world of Mythica where anything is possible. Whilst it uses an animated film, it is of a high quality, and also allows it to fit perfectly on the curved dome screen which flying theatres have; this is the downfall of other attractions which make the perspective of real life films look a bit off due to the curved screen. Flight of the Sky Lion is an action packed experience and perfectly combines the awe of different stunning scenery with lots of thrilling moments with plenty of movement.

Hydras Challenge

“Join Duo on Hydra’s Challenge, an interactive water ride with jaw-dropping twists and turns”

One of our favourite fun and interactive attractions at Legoland has been retained & rethemed to fit into the Mythica land. SQUID Surfer is a ‘jet ski’ style attraction boarding on one of two sets of 6 vehicles, it spins around the platform on the water, with the option to turn the wheel on your jet ski you can swing out to feel the extra speed; guests around the outside of the attraction can press buttons to trigger water explosions to get riders wet. The ride itself has remained the same but featured new paintwork on the ride and rockwork, as well as the Lego model of Duo the two headed hydra watching over guests on the attraction.
