3 New Merlin Annual Passes launch for the 2021 season!
Merlin Entertainments who run and own over 30 thrilling and adventurous attractions throughout the UK have launched 3 new Merlin Annual Passes for the 2021 season. Scrapping the existing system of standard & premium annual passes, the launch of the Discovery, Gold & Platinum have now arrived and on sale for a limited time only as an introductory offer!
Discovery Annual Pass
Introductory price – £69 | Normal price – £89 |
The first new pass to be released is the Discovery Annual Pass. This being completely different to the previous standard & premium offers and instead unlocks access during weekdays only throughout the year.
Unlocking 180 days of Merlin magic, you can use this pass Monday to Friday and restricts every weekend. Other restrictions that apply is during bank holidays, school holidays and other public holidays. You also do not receive any of the other usual benefits such as discount and vouchers and is purely an entry pass for these off-peak days.
A perfect pass for those who work weekends and want to visit during them super quiet days during the season!
Gold Annual Pass
Introductory price – £199 | Normal price – £219 | Renewal price – £159
The second new pass to be introduced is the Merlin Gold Pass, which replaces the standard annual passes. This pass has similar restrictions on dates and other benefits but also with additional restrictions due to the pandemic that is likely to impact the 2021 season also.
You receive free parking at Warwick Castle & theme parks, 20% food & drink alongside retail and the welcome package that includes pop badges and a lanyard. You also receive 3 £5 off fastracks within the package and will be only allowed to pre-book 3 tickets per attraction at any one time.
This is a perfect replacement for 2021 and whilst the additional restriction on pre-booking will apply, it is a reasonable measure to prevent overbooking from other passholders.
Platinum Annual Pass
Introductory price – £239 | Normal price – £299 | Renewal price – £229
The final pass to be introduced is the Platinum Annual Pass which replaces the Premium Annual Pass sold before. This pass comes with all the benefits possible alongside the least amount of restrictions. Compared to previously, there is now more restrictions due to the pandemic.
This includes everything the Gold Annual Pass has to offer but you receive 6 £5 off fastrack vouchers instead of 3 & you can pre-book 6 tickets per attraction at any one time instead of 3. You also receive 3 Share The Fun vouchers, which allow friends or family to join you for £15 each.
There you have it, the 3 new Merlin Annual Passes which have launched ready for the 2021 season. Whilst some of the restrictions are not going to be enjoyed and the prices have increased accordingly, these have been adjusted due to customer feedback at Merlin Entertainments attractions and to help balance out pre-booking for current and new passholders.
No further information has yet been provided on current standard & premium annual pass holders and monthly payments but until then, they will continue on as planned but you will not be able to purchase these previous passes.
Monthly payments will begin on the Gold & Platinum passes in 2021 and we are sure to see some adjustments where possible depending on how the pandemic progresses throughout the 2021 season.
