Phantom Peak 2023 Ultimate Review

7 January 2024

Phantom Peak

London’s best attraction has been growing in popularity since its introduction to the scene in 2022. Phantom Peak is a unique experience which takes you into a steampunk adventure world where you meet the town folks, complete missions and learn your love for Jonas, Platypuses and everything in-between. As an open world immersive experience, there is nothing quite like Phantom Peak in the UK and the best way to know more is by visiting.

The Phantom Peak experience is available only during select dates and seasons, so you need to keep an eye on their socials and website to know when they are open. Each season usually lasts 2 months and can be extended if popular. Tickets are available for select timeslots, which are usually in the evening from 6-10/10:30pm and on Saturday’s and maybe peak dates, they run a daytime showing also. Tickets start from £25 and for a 4+ hours experience in central London, the value is incredible compared to anything similar.

You can find Phantom Peak in Canada Water, an area of London which is pretty quiet since the closure of Printworks. It has easy transport routes via bus & underground to get to here and always a short walk away from any of these stops. Phantom Peak is really the life & soul of the Canada Water area and if visiting this part of London, you’ll be silly not to visit this attraction.

We have been fortunate enough to experience every season since Phantom Peak first opened and below, we cover the 4 seasons they showcased in 2023. Read below to get our thoughts on each season, a snippet of what you may get to experience in 2024 and how the attraction has developed.

A huge thank you to the whole cast of Phantom Peak for working with us throughout 2023!

Platypus Parade – Spring

Starting the year with the Platypus Parade, the spring version of the show. In this season, we see 10 trails you can explore, new carnival games being introduced plus all sorts of nonsense going on. One major attraction they introduced for this season was Platyworld, where they lured you in thinking you would be seeing Platypuses but in fact it was far from this and was a trap for a weird bonus show.

They introduced Jonacise, which is their version of exercising but using Phantom Peak puns and this was the start of them starting each season with a short show. This allowed guests to come in, get food & drink and all be told what Phantom Peak is and how your time could be spent here. We loved this as it allowed for the seasons story to be told and everyone had a fair opportunity to start at the same time.

This season had lots of fun distractions outside of the main trails which are the main part of experiencing Phantom Peak. We also loved Platyhooks, similar to hook a duck but with Platypuses instead! This season ran from the middle of March 2022 through to June 2022.

Summers Peak – Summer

The next season was Summers Peak, which ran from July – September and was based on the strange monoliths that have been found during The Big Dig (you can imagine the innuendos that came with this too). With a brand new food partner and more drinks than ever before, it was a great time to see Phantom Peak in the sunshine. The storyline took an interesting turn with it ending in a shock election which would continue on in the Halloween season!

This season also came with 10 all-new trails to explore and this was the season we sucked most at, only completing 2! They created new games in their own arcade, had an annual rock hunt and had one of the best endings to a Phantom Peak season ever, with you wanting to come back for the following season.

With the warm weather even in the evenings, it made for a great time to just enjoy Phantom Peak for what it is. We took a much more settled approach in this season and still time vanished right in front of us. Whatever you end up doing, regardless of season, time at Phantom Peak goes in a heartbeat.

Hallows Peak – Halloween

As our favourite time of year came about, so did Hallows Peak, the Halloween version of Phantom Peak. This ran in October & November and it included a spooky overlay to the town. Coming with 10 brand new trails, with a mixture of comedy & scares, it was nice to see this return for another year and be so different to its first edition in 2022.

The tagline for the season was The Lunar Festival and was focused on the shock election that was left on a cliffhanger from the summer season. You were asked to join the vote and select who should be the mayor of Phantom Peak, if that was Mayor Pocket or maybe someone knew like Terrence the Platypus! We loved the new themed cocktails and food items they had on offer and getting to explore a more spooky town.

There was an upcharge experience for the first time which was seasonal being the Seance. This would allow you into an exclusive part of the town. Sadly we did not get to experience this but it was interesting to see Phantom Peak try this uplift for the first season.

Ultimately, we love the dark spooky season and it is one of our favourites. With the shock election and the crazy after party, it was our favourite out of the 2023 season! To read a more detailed review of Hallowed Peak back in 2022, click here!

Wintermas – Winter

With the tagline of The Beast of Winter, Wintermas returns with another festive lineup with huge changes. After last year, Father Platmus was locked away in jail but this season, you can find him roaming around spreading joy all over.

In this season, we see an expansion of the Old Town area as some of the New Town is closed due to the winter weather. This means we see a new lab for Dr Winter as he expands his developments. With the changes for winter, it was minimal to what was closed and they compensated so well, for guests attending for the first time they would have no idea. They added 10 festive trails which some of them were simply fantastic. It was our favourite edition of trials that had us laughing-out-loud all night long.

They had festive food & drink on offer and they have kept with an upcharge experience. This time it was a meet & greet with Father Platmus himself. If you booked online, you would be told a slot time and get to meet the big man himself. He was… very festive. You got a black & white polaroid photo to remember the occasion, a unique trial card plus a Christmas badge as a little gift. We even got to play some private Christmas games too.

The season ran from the end of November through to January and was a great season to end the 2023 Phantom Peak year.

Ultimately, whenever you choose to visit Phantom Peak, you are guaranteed to have a great time. They have seasonal food & drink which is die for, with cocktails themed to the seasons or just Platypuses. You have a great selection of food which you can order from machines, which they continue to approve which is shown by them getting a new food vendor in for 2023. The new trials each season have all developed since it first started. They are now ranging in difficulty and uses some very clever hidden places across the whole town to solve. With there being 10 each season, it would easily take more than 2 visits to complete them all, meaning you will want to visit time & time again to get the full story.

Dean mentioned about Phantom Peak “The immersive world continues to amaze with another strong season, full of creative stories and lots of laughs”. Austyn mentioned ”Phantom Peak is easily the best experience in London in 2023. It hosts everything you want from fun stories, fantastic drinks & clever characters!”

Phantom Peak is only getting better and more popular as each season progresses. Phantom Peak starts the 2024 season off with Spring at the Peak: The festival of innovation. With the new year, they have now confirmed each show will come with an in-world collectible that will only be available during presales. This exclusive Jonacoin will grant you a special in-world event for free. Expect 10 groundbreaking completely new stories, new games and events, the return of our favourite game Platyhooks and so much more! The season starts in early March so make sure you look to book soon!
