Plopsaland Winter Magic Review 2019

Plopsaland De Panne introduces Winter Magic for yet another Christmas season to the park. Open on select days throughout November, December and January, Winter Magic adds the winter touch to the theme park whilst offering the thrills as normal.

“Enjoy wonderful decorated Christmas trees, colourful Christmas ornaments and thousands of brilliant Christmas lights. Cheerful fairies and other Christmas figures are dancing around on the most beautiful melodies and you can feel the holiday spirit everywhere. This is Winter Magic in Plopsaland De Panne!”

Plopsaland De Panne offers a range of festive activities during the Winter Magic event such as, Ice skating free of charge in the welcoming plaza of the park, festive shows and parade that happen around the park along with the end of the day firework display across the lake.

Tickets can be purchased directly from Plopsaland De Panne’s website for the best deals direct. Prices for the park throughout the year and for Winter Magic are around £35 per adult. Children, senior adults and multi day & combi tickets for the waterpark all have different prices which can be found direct at Plopsaland De Panne at time of purchase.

Please note, although the review is from the 2019 season, Winter Magic is confirmed for the 2020/2021 season and tickets can be purchased in advance already! Running from November 14th through to January 3rd on selected dates.

Winter Magic showcases additional themeing across the park during the Winter Magic Christmas event. With illuminated Christmas themeing found around the farm area of the park. Best viewed at night, this really does look incredible and adds an extra activity for the family to do at the park during Winter Magic.

From horses and carriage, a magical Christmas train, Santa’s Sleigh and much more on offer, a wide range of illuminated decorations are available to view, take some festive family photos and enjoy visually.

The rest of the park also has a sprinkle of Winter Magic added about however, this is mainly noticable in the farm area & the entrance of the park.

Winter Magic hosts a festive parade during the event which happens at a select time during the park, often in the late afternoon.

The parade starts next to Heidi The Ride’s end of the track as they enter through a service gate (due to the cars being used to transport the people in the parade).

Meeting Santa, Reindeers, the parks mascots and stars, all are included in this festive parade. The parade starts and ends at the same place with the parade going around the park, following a set route. Allowing you to view from many different places from the park.

Although the display was quite small, it was a nice addition to add to the Winter Magic lineup. (We also got a nice shot of Santa with Heidi The Ride!)

Plopsaland De Panne still offer a full lineup of rides & attractions during the Winter Magic event. Including 4 coasters and several flat rides, you can have a full day at the park as a thrill seeker or as a family, without the winter additions.

Since our last visit, Dino Splash is now complete which is a recently rethemed log flume attraction at the park. With an impressive volcano and dinosaur setup, it adds to the area and looks visually impressive during the day and night!

Whilst Plopsaland De Panne offers some great rides during the day, the thrills continue into the night during Winter Magic.

Our favourite rides at the park looked brilliantly lit up at night and added for a unique opportunity to ride them during this where you would struggle to do so during the normal season.

We took a selection of photos from Anubis: The Ride, the parks only coaster which has inversions, Heidi The Ride – a short but fun wooden coaster & Dino Splash, the newly refurbished log flume!

Winter Magic ends the day on selected dates with a magical ending of music & fireworks. Displayed over the lake with the castle lit up in the background, this ends a perfect day at the park during Winter.

The display can be viewed all around the lake, with a few better points to watch than not. We viewed not in the main area but directly opposite the castle for an optimal photo opportunity point.

Once the display is over, Winter Magic comes to a close with rides & attractions all closing at this time.

Overall, Winter Magic at Plopsaland De Panne offers an amazing Christmas touch to the park during the winter months, alongside the rest of the park. We enjoyed the thrills of the coasters in the dark, the parade and the fireworks to end the day at the park! It is also great to see Winter Magic confirmed for another year which we are sure to see continue and hopefully offer more!

Plopsaland De Panne has more to offer moving forward in 2020 with a hotel being added to the entrance of the park. Alongside a new coaster expected during the 2021 season, we cannot wait to see the developments continue and open to the public shortly!

We like to thank Plopsa for inviting us back to the park for Winter Magic and allowing us to capture some winter magic this Christmas!
