Tickets range from £15 up to £75 depending on the experience desired. From a street theatre only pass allowing you to just enjoy the vibe and atmosphere of the event, through to the RIP ticket giving you full fastrack and unlimited maze entry. The popular ticket options usually allow 1x entry to all the mazes alongside the rest of the entertainment. You can find plenty of food and drink available across the event, amongst the music and roaming actors. 

The Street Theatre team really made an impact this year, with them covering a larger than normal area as the event was expanded for 2022. This being the biggest the event has ever been, they have done well to keep a great atmosphere with the music. Other noticeable changes included the new entrance with fire and taking you into the new expanded area.

Toppers Twister

“Mr Topper is not a clown that deals in laughter, he prefers screams! You’ll remember the terrifying events of last year when Mr Topper’s tricks went horribly wrong… this year, his clowning has become even more TWISTED!”

Toppers Twister is a maze we remember very well as one of the original attractions at the event from when we first went. Whilst we felt it was quite tame this year, the actors were fantastic creating some nerve wrecking moments as they were being highly interactive with us. Unfortunately we didn’t see Mr Topper inside this maze this year and the ending lacked a big scare, however, as a clown maze its still a blend of fun and chaotic with many eye catching moments. 

The Attic

“These creatures have been trapped in The Attic for years, angry and upset, they’re not here for fun, they’re here to SCARE! Watch your back, there’s only one way out.”

The Attic is where everything started to get very scary. The unearthly creatures within the hotel started to roam the halls and corridors and had us jumping from the word go. As you go through a number of horrifying abandoned rooms in the hotel, the residents inside get more and more agitated. This is even before you get to the stairs which take you up into the attic. The actors inside The Attic were freaky and chaotic, coming out of almost every room and corridor possible. With it being a pretty large maze to cover, they did well to do so. The actor at the end was one of the most terrifying things we have seen this Halloween! A special mention to the staff member in the introduction room, who really added to the creepy vibes before entering the maze and getting stuck in!

Squealers Yard

“The boys in Squealer’s yard work hard and play hard…in fact they’ll even give you a head start before they start the chase. We’ve heard there’s more chance of survival in a group, so stay close to your mates… you wouldn’t want to get separated. Don’t let them trick you, they are dark people with a disturbing secret, they like the taste of human blood, especially YOURS!” 

Squealers Yard is always terrifying year upon year and 2022 was no exception. We had seen some minimal changes with the maze but we feel this has extended the length ever so slightly. The introduction scene set the rest of the attraction up with them scaring us from all angles. With many dark elements of this haunt, this allowed the actors to taunt you from what seemed everywhere. Whilst many mazes focus on the front of the group it feels, this maze really did have some great impact scares for the back of the group, with them lurking behind in the shadows. Of course the chainsaw ending is always petrifying and makes you want to run out as quick as you can. A solid scare maze which was fun to experience once again.
