The Last Pyramid: The Sands of Time LIVE Is a new zoom experience created by Ultimate Quest. The company has a collection of puzzle books which have been released over the last 12 months, perfect for problem solvers.

Released in March 2021, The Last Pyramid: The Sands of Time has launched which is an interactive puzzle experience that crosses the world between escape room and minigames. This is based on a puzzle book also called The Last Pyramid and expands on this theme designed by Ultimate Quest. 

The experience is currently available to play throughout March 2021 on selected dates and times, typically being Wednesday to Sunday at either 2, 4 or 6pm UK time. Teams can be from 4 to 8 players and your experience will last 90 minutes, with 60 minutes of the main game time before entering the pyramid’s vaults. 

The experience costs £15 per person but the website allows you to book for 4, 6 or 8 players. All you need to play this experience is Zoom and can be played using any device but the larger the better, not forgetting a camera and microphone too! 

The experience is hosted by a live actor who is in character throughout your time with them.

To work your way throughout the pyramid, there are many different zones to explore with different games. The host tries to work out what may be best for your group and the games vary from solo, duo and team play games. The host will let you know the rules before you enter the game. 

Your host will also give you lifelines to support you throughout your quest however, these are limited and can be used as and when needed. 

Ultimate Quest have designed a very visually pleasing game with The Sands of Time, with each game being very high quality and interactive. The games within are simple to be played through Zoom but challenging enough to get you and your team thinking. The games vary between word, number and logical puzzles amongst a few surprises within. We loved the variety of games we explored and whilst some were a real struggle, all solutions did make complete sense. 

The host really is key for virtual experiences like this and ours provided some great entertainment. With many laughs and jokes had with the targeted humour, it adds so much more to just playing a virtual experience. Whilst they play a character throughout your time with them, its an added layer of immersive gameplay which is hard to get for this price, making it amazing value.
